Re: Car cruise in the Detroit area
I just cant get over the amount of damage done by a gutless coward, and bystanders not doing anything.
Id be doing my best to hide wires so this doesnt happen again, simple things like putting the wires in tubes.
But breaking a transmission line now that would take some doing.
There are lowlifes that just cant handle someone who puts all into a car and displays it.
Move forward and repair the car and never leave the car alone again, get ya mates to look out when parked somewhere.
The weapon he took he wont be able to shut his mouth unless he disposed if it, we will reveal....

Re: Car cruise in the Detroit area
I appreciate what everyone has been saying. I'll suck it up and pay to have everything fixed, and I'll also never stop looking for the jerk who did this in the first place.
Today I had the Machine towed to a place to get everything fixed. I trust the guy, and he also said he could make the PA system loud as hell.

Well, it will be nice to have the PA system loud and operational. And when you do meet the hairball again, be prepared to do so. One of my close friends for a night out in the go machine(and when I can't pack Col. Colt), 3 section expandable baton. Fits in your pocket and with a flick of the wrist you can apply a serious attitude adjustment to the elbow or kneecap. He already had one of your bayonets. Just something to think about. The cops can't be around all the time.HUMVEE Driver wrote:I appreciate what everyone has been saying. Yo Dave, any update on the Machine's operational status?

Nope. Tomorrow will be two weeks that it's been there, and I'm going to give the guy a call then. I did ask him to 'make the PA system as loud as possible', so I suppose he could be waiting on some parts he had to order. As soon as I know something I'll post it.

Sorry, no update. They haven't had a chance to really look at it.

Hey Dave, being that the beast is a Ford,I have some clues for you.The metal tube is most probably the tube from the oil cap to the rear of the carb, the bundle of wires with the oblong plug at the end is definitely one of the two plugs for the brain box of the Duraspark ignition module. If you find out who the dirtbag is,post his info and address up here and we will blow up his phone and mailbox with comments.Cheers,Bill

Re: Car cruise in the Detroit area
Thanks, man. I'm having a professional just rip out all the old wiring and get it straightened out from the get-go. I checked on it yesterday and he said it should be done this week. I hope so, because there is a car cruise this Sunday and I told a friend I'd have the Machine on display for him. (Also, the shop has had it for about a month.) So we'll see.
Oh, and I'll have lots of friends (and myself) keeping an eye out for the loser who started all this. I'll never stop looking for him.

Re: Car cruise in the Detroit area
The complete re-wire idea came up when I was relating this story the other day. There are wiring kits out there for hotrods that are actually pretty simple. It'll be good to see the Machine out and about again.HUMVEE Driver wrote:Thanks, man. I'm having a professional just rip out all the old wiring and get it straightened out from the get-go. And I believe you'll cross paths again with the low-octane type who did this. He can run but he can't hide. Give him a kick to the ribs for me.
