I can keep an eye on CarriageWorks, I am a few minutes from there. Had a look at Canal Street but it was Sunday and alas, no real movement happening. The place seems a bit small also.
I would think that the place where the cars are being built is in Alexandria or something, some monster warehouses there.

the job of building these cars will be the responsibility of the production design team working closely with people that provide action vehicles for film and television. vehicle construction and wrangling its a very specific demand in the film industry. not just any spanner monkey can do it. this is particularly true with vehicles involved in stunt work

maybe these questions should be posed -

-who provides action vehicles for film and television in sydney and queensland ?

-what big international feature films have they worked on that involve car stunts in the region - superman returns - mission impossible etc ?

- and finally have any of them worked with george miller before ?
