Well I went to see Doomsday opening night and I had a great time. Escape and Max nods, even ripoffs? Sure, but it was fun anyways. This movie isn't Oscar material, but neither are most of my favorites, go see it and have a good time, I think it's gonna be a long long time before you see another new film with a Post apocalyptic car chase and Mohawked Marauders on the big screen again.

I don't really like Disney movies but for me CARS has got to be the best Disney movie. It's on my list of best movies. I love Comedies: Clerks,Clerks 2,Stripes,Ghostbusters,Christmas Vaction,and Caddyshack.

It's a piece of shit. Saw it last night. I've no problem with people trying to do homages to movies that influenced them but I don't expect them to simply paste and cut their favourite pieces together into a movie and claim it as their own. Car chase at the end is beat for beat Road Warrior. The exact same stuff happens right where it should. Oh look, the villain fell off the car, oh wait he's still there. Yawn. APC escape from Aliens, Escape From New York is channeled everywhere from Rhona Mitra's eyepatch to the movie soundtrack and shitty computer graphics. Speaking of which, Mitra's useless. She says everything in the same tone, no matter the situation. No screen presence, no nothing.
I'm all for suspension of disbelief when it comes to these movies but really, this is just ghastly filler. I'm as desperate for another Mad Max movie as much as anyone else on here but not so much that I'm ready to use this to fill the void. Save it for DVD but even then be warned, it's up there with any of these shitty Mad Max rip-offs. I'm so happy it flopped. Garbage doesn't deserve to be rewarded.

Not to sound like one of them Male Chinese Pigs and all,but I tend to agree with you.This lil waif of a woman is beating the bitty piss out of everyone including the WEZ ripoff is unbelievable. I'll wait and rent this.

I just saw Doomsday, and I gotta agree with everyone who hated it; it was just UGH. So much crap, and the heroine is a total Mary Sue. (Wiki it. In short, a 'Mary Sue' is the author's little darling).

There were some bad rip-offs, scene for scene from MM2. And then there was the crap. Oh, the crap. The team drives past hundreds if not thousands of cows, yet people a few miles away must resort to cannibalism? Bulletproof glass on an armored vehicle will stop cannon rounds but not a bat with some spikes on it? The lead girl in the movie will get punched square in the face a few times, yet hours later she only has a tiny cut on her lip. No swollen nose, lips, cheeks, nothing. Perfect makeup. Survivors have been using a tunnel for 27 years, yet no one has looked in any of the crates there? All you have to do to make a 27 year old generator work is just hit the control panel a few times? A car battery will start a car after sitting for 27 years? I mean, just a little thing, but if they had clutch-started that car it would have made things so much more believeable. Oh, and the car tires will be fully inflated, too. And drums of guzzoline will be just laying around there for you to use. And there will be a hose laying around to siphon it off, too. A motorcycle laying in the road will not only cause a van to flip ass over teakettle when it hits it, but it will cause both vehicles to explode? The badass special forces Jackie Chan superchick will be making her escape in a car, but she'll just leave her handgun in it's hard-to-get-to holster. When the girl who has been killing your buddies drives up after her escape, everyone just kind of watches her and waits for her to talk instead of, oh I don't know, attacking her?

Believe me, there are many more stupid little moments, and they all add up. Just another dumb Hollywood movie.

One surprising part was when an out of control car goes off a cliff (I knew THAT was coming) it DOESN'T blow up when it hits the ground. The FX team must have been short on gasoline bombs that day.

Though I liked The film and I respect everyone's opinion,but you do have to admit the huge bike and the skin covered Jag were awsome.

You forgot about escape by steam locomotive because we all know how fast you can get those puppies up and running when you're being chased by a bunch of homicidal cannibalistic savages and let's not even discuss the bionic eye. I almost roared out loud laughing it was so stupid. Then she just puts it back in here eye socket!!! Don't you want to clean that first, love...? I assume the movie's meant to be a satire. Like 'Scary Movie' or something. "Let's take every post-apocalypse movie ever made and throw them all into one and it'll be the greatest!" Maybe in theory. I'll confess I got a good rush when the Bentley first speeds off out of the bunker but once you realize that's as good as the chase is going to get, you know you're in trouble.

I had high hopes for this film, despite the warnings.
UK's top film maker, yet the film is not getting hyped in the UK???
All his fans have turned against him? What gives?

Good God I can't believe I actually paid to see this film.
To me it also seemed like Scary movie.
No plot development whatsoever, just tribute bits thrown in together at random.
Everything ending in the characters being hacked to pieces in the most vile way possible.
I swear it really made me want to give After the fall of New York another chance.

The trailer sold me on the cool Bad girl and when she was hacked to pieces 5 minutes after appearing, it was quite a let down. But I suppose stunt women getting an acting debut seldom live long, do they?

As if to show how the film would unfold, a bunny is shown, but instead of a single arrow killing it (as in Road Warrior),
a Machine Gun pops out and completely obliterates the bunny.
The film was okay at points. Just so much utter carnage. While it stole blatently from better films, it
all played out like a tribute to the video nasties from the 80's.

The plot elements are all cut and pasted, so I am still trying to figure out
what the bloody bathtub shootout scene was from.

Unlike the Mad Max world, NONE of the people have ANYTHING to contribute to society.
They are all Ferral killers. Like The Hills have eyes.
We are to believe everyone is either an inhuman monster or a prisoner.
I myself would be wondering what the heck is this cool Tank Vehicle and why are people dressed in Starship Troopers costumes wandering around in my back yard. Instead the actors generally have no lines and exhibit a strong need to kill
anything and everything.

I did like the body art and the Celtic symbol merged as a BIOHAZARD symbol.
Then I started to think, how did they create the symbol in STAINED GLASS when there are clearly no artisans.
I am still bothered that Scotland is now overrun with Dairy cows and we are led to believe that the whole tribe would rather just fry the the good guys alive as their only source of food.
