a piece of history
I think the DVDs will both be an excellent addition to the wealth of information out there, and will likely put to rest some small details that are spiritedly debated among the replica builders and other fans here.
I think it is pretty certian that any new information will not at this point, subatantially change any MAJOR element of the Replicas produced (even by the most scrutnizing Builder).
OK, I know many MINOR elements (yes I know every minor element is EVERYTHING to some of us) will probably have a new prospective.
Will that change what someone sees who knows just enough to say "WOW THATS MAD MAX'S CAR"..... Probably not...
BUT........ it will make it even more rewarding to build a car, for those of us who just are not satisfied unless the actual stuntman, or builder of the movie car would ask "is this the genuine article?".
Count me in to buy a copy of each for myself, and another as an excellent "MAD MAX" gift.
"We'll see you on the road scag, We'll see you like we saw the nightrider!!!", "Perhaps its a result of anxiety...." MFP1

I know Doug's "focused" replica couldn't get a higher praise when it was said by the BoB god himself...Murray Smith, "Mate, you built yourself a car!" He also asked if it was the original car in the beginning. I know 20 years and long miles can blur the memory, but I think that statement and question vindicated all of Doug's research and effort. I'm positive Scott, Nelson, Adrian, Jim and everyone else has taken more or less the same amount of time to research the movie and build their replica to the best of their abilities. My car is going in a different MFP direction (especially since the "Thunderdome Epoxyclypse" of the Gordon/Grant fallout), but it was extremely entertaining and impressive listening to the story of the "Evolution of the BoB" from the guy who built it. Therefore, seeing all of the interviews and footage will be interesting and enlightening to say the least when the dvd's come out...especially for those that are...well..."focused", and even those that are just the casual fan.
Put me down for a couple of copies when they're available.
