Mel's "indiscretion" made the 6am news on Radio 4 this morning. (yes we can pick up the BBC in France) Seems he's been charged for drink driving and for having an open bottle of tequila in the car with him. Oh, and apprently he also apologised for his anti-semitic remarks... which got me thinking...


If I started spouting off such things like; "I hate all f**king ginger haired b*****ds who drive Skodas, they should all be rounded up, put in a field and machined gunned until they said sorry... blah de blah de blah..." ...


.... and the aforementioned ginger headed Skoda drivers of doubtful birthright were offended by my insensitive remarks, which then caused me to apologise publically, would that, in fact, make my real opinion any different? Saying "I'm really sorry" doesn't actually mean much after the fact.

Yeah..but thank God for forgiveness...otherwise I'd been in a bad place, given the number of times I've put my foot in it (I suffer from a terrible case of "foot in mouth" disease)


Mel and I are only human...we both get p!ssed, loose our inhibitions and say stupid stuff that's on our barely functioning brains at the time...only difference is, everyone is watching Mel...no one gives a toss when I do the above....but Mel's going to have to carry this one to the grave!...that's a lot of pressure!


When I think back to my opinions of when I was a 'flat-earther', know-it-all teenager (or even my opinions last year!) I thank God they weren't written down in Stone, or recorded on Video for all time!


Mel's a full-on "Churchie"..that generally means he's a little too caring and empathetic..he's just made 2 movies on Religious intolerance in the dark ages of history....seeing history repeat itself 2000 years later was probably enough to drive him to drink...the trouble in the middle east is on everyone's mind....drunks just verbalise their thought processes....even if they're wrong!

Basically Mel-the-legend-in-his-own-vino-bottle is sorry for being caught and sorry for the damage done to his film company and career.


Strange how the media are playing down the fact Mel was seen partying,drinking,kissing and cuddling with gals who weren't his missus.
