Addressing a woman you don't know really well as "sweety" is not very respectful. And calling attention to the poster's presumed gender seems like a tactic intended specifically to demean her or take her down a notch.

Much has been said in the blogosphere about the fact that fandom is not always a very welcoming place for female fans. I urge you to choose your words in such a way that you're not contributing to that dynamic.
