Just finished watching this trailer frame by frame and a couple of times at regular speed. My thoughts:

It's freaking amazing, no surprise there. I'm most interested in Immortan Joe's character because it looks like he's the one holding onto the remnants of old civilization, with his bio-dome, books, piano, plants etc. It reminds of Auntie Entity's tower, where she kept fruit, and had music. I wonder what Immortan Joe's tower used to be before, since he's got a freaking safe door guarding his possessions - that including his 'wives'.

It's slightly disappointing that they chose to reveal the War Rig's crash, hoping we won't get any more spoilers like that. What's also interesting is that Max was held in a cage along with others. It looked like a farm of people to be hooked to cars to siphon adrenaline from. Freaky idea.

Of course we can't ignore the fact Max was having flashbacks to some girl that apparently is dead. Who knows what that's all about. Probably a glimpse of his re-imagined past for all we know.

The Citadel looks gigantic. Bartertown pales in comparison, yet it has a similar vibe, but most likely less 'fun' if you know what I mean. At least they had trade, barbers, booze and fun activities (thunderdome) in Bartertown. Citizens of the Citadel look like they're trying to stay alive instead.

Just watched the new trailer and it looks absolutely amazing. Immortan Joe's voice is obviously not the one of Hugh Keays-Byrne who plays the role. But it sounds great. Only, how is someone that misses his lower jaw, where fore he wears the mask, be able to speak in such a clear way. At least, from older pictures posted here from the time during filming, it would be clear he has no lower jaw.

And I must agree with the comment on how much action is revealed in the trailer. It is good to show some to get a general idea of what to expect of the movie. But they should not use to much or to critical pieces of the story. Leave the most and most important pieces only for the movie.
"UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

His jaw is in place all the time if you look closely, I believe he might lose it in the finale but that's all speculation based on that one picture.

It is Hugh. I remember seriz wasn't able to sit down and talk with him, what last year or the year before when he was in Australia interviewing everyone, because he was doing the ADR work for Fury Road.

I hope it is the final one. They can't show more without spoiling it.
I don't see how they can spoil this movies story. We all guessed what the story is about and what will happen. But yeah. The boys at Warner Bros smell like they are scared and desperate to get back their 150 million dollar investment back on this R rated film. Fuck them. George Miller is more concerned about the fans and did not sell out to get a PG 13 rating. I will see it in the cinema at least two times and by the Blu Ray and place it next to my other Max Max collection.
Well, they kinda spoiled about what happened to the War Rig.

I don't think showing the War Rig crashing is really a spoiler, I expected it would. From memory they filmed that stunt in Sydney when they did the rest of the additional filming.

A real spoiler would be showing which characters get killed off...

Yes Hugh's voice has gotten a bit deeper and sounds more gravelly as he has more years and pies under his belt.Sounds great!

johnentwistlespout wrote:To be honest I think this is the worst of the Fury Road trailers and spots so far. The 2015 first official trailer and 'retribution' had me in fits of ecstasy, but this - and the release of the posters yesterday - has probably grounded me a bit. Don't get me wrong I've been an obsessive mad max fan since 1982 but I was starting to think this might be the second coming. If I had to name the three magic ingredients of Max it would be The Edit, The Sound and the Cinematography...and the other trailers had those in spades. Aside from the beautiful split second sunset wide shot of the truck i can't see that here. Don't hate me for this but I can't be the only one who isn't quite so staggered to tonight. I'm being fussy obviously, but mad max has been in my life for most of my life. Whatever, the next few weeks - as we run up to the release - are going to be some of the most exciting of my life and I look forward to sharing it with you all here.
I really think it's better than the orchestral one that looked like clockwork orange in v8s. I get a sense of story here and Immortan looks and sounds brilliant. My concerns are for Hardy - and I'm a big fan of his - he just doesn't look like a hero in this. But that's more my baggage from the original films. Trying to leave everything at the door so to speak.

I actually disagree with you on the cinematography etc. The film is clearly well shot and will sound great and look great - like Thunderdome. It'll be the other elements - like thunderdome - that let it down if anything does. Did you reLly prefer the all out chaos of the other trailers? Did you find this one too slow?
