Main problem he has with the car is registering it with an age related number plate. He has it MOT'd and went along to the DVLA with his paperwork, all original import papers and so on, but in order for him to get an age related plate, he needs some sort of Ford Falcon Owners Club letter headed saying that his car is indeed from that era, silly realy as its got all that onthe VIN plate, but I guess if that is what the DVLA needs,,that is what he has now got to get.

If anyone can point him in the best direction.

It's a beast,,,I'm impresed and want it,,,he has gone the full hog with paintwork, matt black painted on with a roller ;)
FORD Australia have a 13hundred number where you can ask for a vin number search (if its still on the database, as not all made it). They can then send a letter out to the owner with the details etc....

Cheers for the info, I have been digging a bit more, I didn't know about the 13number so had to do a bit of a search on what that was Lol
I have checked on the on-line VIN plate checkers, and they seem to run from 1986, which having entered the details of this Falcon,, ('73) of course it came back with nothing. which may explain why the lady at the DVLA wanted more proof of year of manufacture, as she may have used the same database !

Some digging still required...the only 'run' he has given the falcon was to the MOT station,, he has fuel in the tank and gagging to use it lol

This replica for sale is already in the UK. A bit pricey, though. £79,995 or ~$125,000 US.

Online contact form for Ford Australia, the phone number is listed there as well, but i have no idea if it will work from overseas.
As i said, not all of the old details made it to Ford, some of it was lost. There is info as far back as 1969 in their archives.
I dont know about the online database your talking about sorry.

Just to keep you posted , I have this sorted now :) The car has an MOT and now a age related number plate, the DVLA wanted more confirmation from the either a UK or Oz Falcon owners club or a letter from Ford itself.
I joined the Ford Falcon owners club in Austraila on line...and got booted , as there server detected that I did not live in Australia or New Zealand !! bit odd that
The FORD Australia 13hundred number proved a little better, but there online calculator for the VIN number came back with no results, due to the age of the car.
I then emailed FORD direct and they came back with the clarification of what the car is and the year it was made.

Result :) thanks for everyone input and help,, I will get some decent pictures taken and post them.
