Yes, but I'm not speaking about the movie, but about the trailer. I think it's sounds stupid in the trailer... Max arriving and telling directly what's the people remind of him... in a cheesy way.
Come on "I am the road warrior, an ancient cop searching for a righteous cause"...
Fortunatly, Hardy is not going to speak to much in the movie, because for the moment, coming from his mouth, nothing impressed me.

(and the "redemption" stuff from Furiosa... hum hum)

But it's only a trailer...

Ehhh, you're right to be unsure about it. It was pretty bad in the cut I saw. Probably my biggest beef, to be honest. Didn't fit with the tone of the movie at all. Pretentious and badly written.

The voice-overs in these new trailers are bloody awful. Doesn't sound like a guy out in the wasteland at all... Sounds like a writer trying too hard to shoehorn the movie's theme in. Yuk. I'm having a bad feeling about this stuff. The visuals of course, are terrific.

Whoever is getting Tom Hardy to voice this crap needs to be removed pronto!

There's images of Max with his haircut and new gear in the Asian Trailers, must make it back to the Citadel or some town or crowd later in film.

I figured feral Max at opening, prisoner Max on Nux's car, then re equipped main chase Max.

Yeah, that's my biggest beef in the trailer, sounds like words coming out of Fast and Furious franchise.I do like the "My World is Fire and Blood" one. The rest ? Cheesyfest

Also the way Tom Hardy talks is a bit weird. It's like he's trying to hard to sound raspy and worn out and ended up being forced. I'm having a hard time trying to picture him sounding like that the entire movie. Shoulda remove the voiceover entirely from the movie. Let the actions speak louder than words lol

If that's from the opening/closing narration then it sounds even worse than Harrison Ford's deliberately bad narration he recorded for Blade Runner's theatrical release.

It's about on a par. I'm not blaming Hardy. I doubt anyone would have known how to deliver the lines as they were written and make it sound acceptable.

Hope the next one won't feature voiceover from Max or at least if there is one, make it sound like the old movies.

It almost sounds like studio mandated exposition. I mean if it's as pretentious and corny as blackmocco says it is, it's hard to believe Miller would keep it. To me the voice over doesn't sound as bad as that of Blade Runner. At least Hardy is trying, while Ford sounds like he's trying his best to make it sound bad. That said, as bad as the Blade Runner voice over is, it didn't really affect my over all enjoyment of the film, and I suspect the same will be said of Fury Road.

It won't ruin the movie for anyone, by the way. The voiceovers are mercifully brief.
