You're wasting your time. This is how people like him think. One dimensional, tunnel vision group-think. There is no reason or common sense. It's like trying to deprogram a member of a cult. I'd recommend putting him on ignore, unfortunately as a mod I guess you're doomed to read his shitposts forever.

Re: News on the Fury Road sequel: "The Wasteland" !!!
I was citing examples of how getting women as an audience has helped both Fury Road and The Force Awakens, sorry if you thought my extrapolation about a movie that's still completely under wraps was unreasonable.Taipan wrote:You seriously need to take off your feminist glasses, because that whole paragraph about The Wasteland failing because you saw into the future and saw its demise based on going back to the same level of representation seen in MM2... wow. That wasn't grounded in reality whatsoever now was it? Also, can I borrow that magical crystal ball that shows you the future?![]()
Aww c'mon, like that wasn't funny. Jeez, if you can't take a joke about Max getting down and dirty with a guy no wonder you're so uptight about women getting a fair crack in future films. How are we supposed to discuss anything with you when you say things like this:
No, I ignore crappy movies that feature women on an equal basisThen just admit that you're not watching movies because they're good but because there are women in it. How sexist is that? And you claim to represent equality?

Erm, you know that feminism stands up for men, too? One of the things I listed elsewhere that gave Fury Road feminist overtones was that the two men in heroic roles were both working with the women and also freeing themselves from a patriarchy that promoted toxic masculinity. It's been repeated time and time again over here that neither we, nor the director cares who plays the main roles in Mad Max franchise because we love those movies regardless. That's as close to equal treatment as it gets, yet you claim the higher moral ground while being straight up sexist. While we're at it, where were you when the issue of young men used for war in Fury Road was raised? Or did you let that little fact slip past because equality in movies only means more women on screen? Even Brendan McCarthy said the whole feminist angle was blown out of proportion after the release of Fury Road and other issues such as the religious cult angle or disposability of men were completely ignored.
The way that you still refer to me as "him", despite having a woman as an avatar and saying many times that I'm a woman, speaks volumes for why I still feel the need to mention this stuff.Mad Max RW wrote:You're wasting your time. Ironically, if nobody had mentioned they had a hardon while typing replies agreeing with you guys, I probably would have just let it rest. I know it's a lost cause, I just get irritated when the positive spin of Fury Road gets hand waved away as women not mattering.

i really dont think it was ever a goal for action movies to get women into the audience. they either come or they dont.
but there's no explaining that to you, no matter how many colorful words are used.
also incredibly convenient as an sjw to totally miss the relation of wez and golden boy in mm2.

Your gender on this board and in real life matters to me about as much as the color of the socks you're wearing. Here's a joke: the average SJW changes both equally as often to match their shoes/rhetoric. Anyway, I'm not going to take my dirty rolled up socks and shove them in your mouth to silence you. That's more of a SJW tactic.

It never used to be, but appears to be a conscious effort now. Aliens and Terminator 2 are examples of very very successful classic actions films which both feature, and are popular with, women.themanw/oaname wrote:i really dont think it was ever a goal for action movies to get women into the audience. they either come or they dont.
Who says anyone missed that? I was talking about Max getting it on ... I always liked Wez because he was both homicidal and in love, a fantastic tragic character (and inspiration for me initially learning to ride a motorbike)also incredibly convenient as an sjw to totally miss the relation of wez and golden boy in mm2.

And every time a flaw is pointed out in sexist thinking guys change the basis of their argument, but I think you're getting rather off topic at this point.Mad Max RW wrote:Your gender on this board and in real life matters to me about as much as the color of the socks you're wearing. and yet, you believe it was a concentrated effort. it wasnt. there was a strong female character because there was a strong female character. not to get women in theaters. this stupid social justice crusade of yours and ilk is only within the last few years. both of those movies were 86 and 91.Turbofurball wrote:It never used to be, but appears to be a conscious effort now. and alien was 1979. ripley was writing the book well before 1986.
yep. why not just choose to not have sex at all? nope. got to be gay.Who says anyone missed that? I was talking about Max getting it on ... I always liked Wez because he was both homicidal and in love, a fantastic tragic character (and inspiration for me initially learning to ride a motorbike)

Uncle Entity doesn't deserve such a horrible fate. He was never a self righteous, hate-filled, hypocritical and sexist troll attacking everybody on the board while dodging a ban by hiding behind the fallacy of "social justice".

A fair point, the modern form of marketing to target audiences is a recent-ish development - that doesn't mean that women viewers didn't contribute to those two films being financially successful, which is what we were talking aboutthemanw/oaname wrote:and yet, you believe it was a concentrated effort. it wasnt. there was a strong female character because there was a strong female character. not to get women in theaters. this stupid social justice crusade of yours and ilk is only within the last few years. both of those movies were 86 and 91.

Also a good point, given that Max repeatedly shows no interest in sex at all maybe he's asexual ... thanks for the name calling, though.yep. why not just choose to not have sex at all? nope. got to be gay.

At what point have I been hate-filled? Are there any other labels you can think of? What was the topic again?Mad Max RW wrote:Uncle Entity doesn't deserve such a horrible fate. he irritates me.Mad Max RW wrote:Uncle Entity doesn't deserve such a horrible fate. He was never a self righteous, hate-filled, hypocritical and sexist troll attacking everybody on the board while dodging a ban by hiding behind the fallacy of "social justice".
whatever gender identification turbofall is using today; is willfully stupid. which bothers me even more than irritation.

Just out of interest....If you blocked uncle entity , how are you still able to post on a thread he started ? I feel in the name of fairness , if you block someone you shouldn't be able to post on their thread either ..... does make you fell like your winning though I guess .
P.S.....doesn't the whole " triggered " meme kind of admit your making statements for a particular reaction......pretty close to Trolling by definition I'd say
