That car is a XC Station Wagon belonging to the Accident Investigation Squad... The long pole with the flood lights and flashing blue light on top is part of the cars equipment. There are two guys in white coats and white peaked hats walking around with clip boards, who would be part of the investigation team.
Its the only reference you see to having a seperate "normal" police force.

Ohhh yaaa i knew i had seen a plain wight wrapper on that brigde someware LOL have to break out the DVD again somtime to see looks.

Also the ambulance used in the same scene was a serving ambulance. with an actuarial ambo crew, who normally used the hq holden that the ambulance historical society of victoria have (it was being serviced and they got the f truck to use ) one of the ambos is a mate of mine.
