Yea Barstow is easily a weekender for me.. Hmmm I hope it doesn't step on the Dune riding we do around that time though. I'll have to look into it. If there is a prize for loudest Road Warrior themed machine I bet I would win..This damn supercharger and megaphone exahuast on the drag bike are a wicked (to the ears) combo. I will definitely try to make it. Even if just to see all the cars.
this was during a fuel test... you can really hear the blower whine at minute 1:49
These guys actually befriended me on myspace, thats how I came to learn of them. Sadly I won't attend. The economic climate prevents me to do so. Besides, how could you warrant going to such an event if you don't have a marauder vehicle of your own? I hope it will be a great success, and thus give me the opportunity to go myself at a later point in time. Road trip from North Texas in a murdered out muscle car of yesteryear. Sounds like my kind of trip for sure!

I just met up with Vernon Wells on Wednesday. He is now confirmed to attend!
It's funny - the organizer had him down as a "Special Guest" months ago. Vern found this out through a friend a couple weeks ago. Needless to day, it was news to him!
We are now trying to confirm the Thunderdome. I really hope they can come out.
Also, we met with the filmmakers who want to shoot a professional documentary about the event. They are fans and are really excited about filming it.
How in the hell didnt i hear of this sooner? Its not like i have a life, all i do is hit rock shows and cars shows.
This sounds insane. 3 days in the desert?, pure swesomeness. Offroading.
Though i dont think ill take my lincoln down there on that 1300 mile trip.. no windows in december, across the passes. I might just grab a trans-am, strip off all the sheetmetal in front of the cowl and add a jeep grille for this. I surely cant show up in a non maxed-out rig.
Count me in, hell or high water.

I am hoping it will happen again a couple of years from now. Or better yet, it becomes a re-occurring event. I will have a max styled vehicle in the future, but to say I'll acquire one on the short term is very unlikely.
I agree, you can not show up without a set of wheels, and a max style outfit to boot! Leather for the WIN! Sleep in the car, eat in the car... Park em in a circle and make a campfire in the middle. Man, that is my idea of wandering the wasteland with your mates!

There is something wrong with me. I have a mental disorder. I have only one thought. From the second that I wake, to the time that I go to bed, and lay there awake dreaming. This event is months away, and it consumes my ever present thought. I check daily to see if there are updates. But most of the time not. I Get to terrorize the population for 1000 miles, to Barstow CA screaming "Remember the Nightrider" through the PA. Many of you have a longer to drive than me, and might think that it is too far. That would make you even more of a Road Warrior. I will be traveling south on I-5 from Washington, if anybody else is going that way.

I'm sort of in the same boat. My plan is to drive my 1999 Silverado but cover it with camo net when I get there. Also, I'm looking for a Honda Odyssey ATV and/or early '80s motorcycle that I can buy and modify on the cheap. And if that doesn't pan out, I'll spray paint my mountain bike. So don't let the lack of a vehicle stop you.

My understanding is that some sort of post apocalyptic costume is REQUIRED for this event, while a post apocalyptic vehicle, while strongly encouraged, is not required. Right?
Since this will be more than a one day thing, it will give me a chance to wear my MM2 max outfit one day, and my MM1 MFP outfit the other (and I'll need the months of prep time since neither one is done yet).
I would guess that some other people out there might do the same thing (one MFP outfit along with something more apocalyptic). It might be cool if some of us decided to all wear our MFP gear on the same day. It would be cool to have a photo with a large force of MFP officers standing together.
Hey Rad Kill where in the great Pacific Northwet are you at?I am SLOWLY trying to talk my wife into going or at least me going, even though it is over 1,000 miles each way.I am thinking that troy and Dee from Mad Max cars.com might also be going and a convoy down I5 would sure turn some heads.Nothing like it since 2003 and the 2,000 mile convoy to Dearborn.Cheers,Bill
