That is soooooo good. I got tingles watching that trailer.. >sigh< if only. Brillaint job Morrisminor. REALLY brilliant job.

Now the one person who ought to watch that is Mel himself, it could be the trigger that might make him reconsider reprising the role. Yeah it's a bloody slim hope, but it could happen.

I, too, would like a list of those films you cropped to compile that clip, any chance? I think I recognised one excerpt from a dreadful film called Crash and Burn but that was about it.

I think reconised the following footage:

(the gas dripping) Max Max 2, opening scene

(the turning wheel) Cars, the hudson hornet

(the guy behind the wheel screaming) BMW films, Beat the Devil

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. It's really rewarding to hear your comments after the effort that I put into the project. I had a blast doing it. After I had cut the first few scenes togeather the thing began to snowball.

I did it in i-movie and I had another 2 gigs of material that I could have used. At one point I was trying show Eric Bana as Max but I could'nt find any footage of him behind a wheel driving but he is in there for one brief shot,(anyone catch it?). So then it became Clive Owen as Max.A lot of the Euclid footage came from a movie called Starship (aka "Lorca and the Outlaws" in the UK).That movie is an Australian one from the eighties and features Hugh Keayes Byrne but its a pretty awful movie. A lot of the bike stuff is from a deleted sequence from the Flight of the Phoenix remake. Some of you guys are real sharp when it comes to spotting the origins of the clips I did'nt think anyone would cop the ones from Cars. But anyway to ease some brain strain here's the footage list...

Flight of the Phoenix

Dust Devil

Solarbabies

Rockfish

Starship

King Arthur

The Proposition

Ghosts of Mars

The BMW films

A Chevy car commercial

Cars

Razorback

Atomik Circus

Worlds fastest Indian

Auto Assault game trailer

Troy

Collin McRae Dirt game trailer

The soundtrack was from Land of the Dead and I did the title card myself in photoshop. Image

The opening deeper "wirring" noise from "Crocadile Dundee??"

(cant recall whats its called... but Aboriginals used it to summon people i think.... it was swung over their heads really fast and then allowed to slow down, causing the noise to get louder then softer)
We are 100% snafu....

SAM: It's called a Bullroarer. I bought one in Adelaide with a kangaroo Dreaming on it. It didn't work too well in the apartment though...need to be outside to get the wind going over it properly at 6 feet away. You also hear it on the Diesel and Dust album by Midnight Oil.

Excellent video by the way!
