I've Certainly seen "Debate" on the new Bond.. That's for sure. Image

I haven't had opportunity to see the new movie (8 month old baby makes for Difficult Movie watching at Home, let alone going to the Theater) but what I Have seen of the actor & Character.. he's Spot-On with the Bond as portrayed in the novels. (IMO)

Something the other guys didn't manage (Again, IMO) or even try for.

As for Max..

I think the Tale is the Important part.

I just want what's best for the Tale.

Myself, I'm not involved in the Movie business at all and am not Privy to any of the Non-Public information.. Bluntly.. I don't have all the FACTS.. none of us do.

That said, I'm going to say I think the Best Qualified to decide what's best for the Tale is George Miller.

If He decides that Recasting is the Best Move.. I'll support it.

If he decides to Risk Mel's participation.. I'll support that.

If Mel won't do it.. well, that'd be involved in the decision to Recast.

Of Course.. Any Moviemaker can make mistakes.

Look at George Lucas. Image

(Sorry, Mr. Lucas.. But you went Left when your sane fans felt Dead-Ahead was the way)

It's Mel or bust for me. What's Mad Max without Mad Max? And Mel Gibson is Mad Max, and can still be Mad MAx in the movies, he's still young enough.

This isn't James Bond or anything and it's likely this will be the final Mad Max film, so they can surely squeeze Mel into the leather Jacket once more. Indications from both Miller's side and Gibson's side, going by the interview 'nolovingplace' pasted from, suggest it's quite likely Mel could be back, once things for MM4 fall into place.

This Movie is quite a while away yet, and George Miller continues to say it's 2 movies away. So let's see.

nah, it's not like he's starring in a kung fu flick, he can be surely out of shape to play max. i mean, in MM trilogy the most exhausting thing he did was....running.

that and shoveling sh*t in bartertown.

Despite everything i have heard and all of the press that says there are two other films in the pipeline before it- it makes perfect sense that FURY ROAD is next.

Previously a big issue with getting the green light on this picture was its $200 million budget. Negotiation between Mel and George's people was a a huge part of the figure.

With Mel gone - and a new younger actor being sort - that figure is sure to have come down. But without an A list actor so too is the risk of the project.

What Miller proved with HAPPY FEET is that his stories and approach are very bankable. Not only was the dancing penguin one of the big success stories of year BUT it did it in a market saturated in 'talking animal' animated movies -that all bombed.

If you are going to get a big sci-fi budget movie off the ground again with a new star - the odds are against you. But what if you are running hot? What if you have a huge convention breaking hit in cinemas? And what if you receive an oscar for that very same film about the time of the DVD release...

You are not HOT forever. I think that the tide has turned in Miller's favour and the opportunity to make FURY ROAD had never been better...

I would of suggested Sam Worthington - but James Cameron jumped on him as lead for is 2009 intergalactic epic AVATAR.

"They breed them differently down there" he's quoted as saying.

I think its great that it will be someone new and young. If it takes place after MM2 (I think the events of MM3 have been erased from the cache) how old/young would we be expecting?

Like I said before..

The Show must go on.

With or without Mel.

At this point, in light of Mel's recent.. er.. Misbehavings, I'm uncertain if it would be better for the success of the film to recast or risk using Mel.

Which is Riskier?

Without Mel, the film will have to stand on it's own.

With him.. it might be dead before opening night.

In addition, Mel has made it abundantly clear that no longer respects the series that Made him.

He thinks it's a Joke doesn't want to do it.

Anyway.. With him (Won't happen) or without him (Gonna Happen) I'll be there opening night.

that's so true Foxtrot.

one way or another - with him or without - if Miller says he wants to do it - there's gonna be a new MM.
