In light of the dismal economy this past Christmas season, it's no surprise that there wasn't a huge 'gotta have it' toy. But the Zip Zap racers from Radio Shack came pretty close. Sold out, most times, and knock-offs did quite well.
So maybe this next wave of Max related toys will include mini RC Interceptors. If somebody's smart, they're already on it... Gotta go check out the NY Toy Fair news to see if anything's going on there.
Det. Max., remember the Mad Max toy ideas at Trendmasters?

Hey Mitch
I wouldn't mind getting into the swap buddy' thing. I'm sick of being ribbed by ameican friends who take great joy in having a go at my "doll" collection.
The onlt thing is it will be a bit one sided as not much originates out of Oz ... well except the films!
Did you or anyone else get one of the RC Interceptors? The best price I've seen on ebay is US$175 ... that's A$300 ... I just bought a registered running '66 Dodge Phoenix for that!!!! There must be a more cost effective way to get hold of one ... it'd look great with my dolls!
There is a restored Goss in Unique Cars for A$12000 which has had $25000 spent on it ... I'll email you a scan.

I bought the MM 1 RC for $135US, if memory serves from Hobbyworld. Came in a week and the S&H wasn't too bad. $175 is way to much. Here are two places to look for them.

oh man, a few years ago, when i first got the ROAD WARRIOR FIGURES, i was so excited when i heard of a series 2, that i just had to write to N2 TOYS, and beg them to make them a franchise. I baught up topics like the STAR WARS FRANCHISE i mean fans of star wars really get it good, you got f**kin CHEWBACCA - with crossbow - with welding mask- with winter gear- with his goddamn dick out.
so then i listed all the possibilities for OUR characters i made a big long list of what i thought WE would like to see no matter how trivial the character
PAPAGALLO as we first see him, then with f**ked up leg and lip with his vest on, then WAR PAPAGALLO with his helmet and 'wez' gauntlett crossbow.
MECHANIC in first scene, then the option of buying WAR MECHANIC with his goggles and awesome suit of studs, plus he'd come with molotov cocktails and 'set alight' gloves (just joking with that one), but you get the point, i was a real annoying little prick bugging them, begging for these figures.
Now this was before i had EMAIL, so took all night to write out , and eventually they wrote back, and this is the letter they sent me...

In other words, if the figures i listed started popping up, i couldn't sue their arse's.
It's a pity N2 TOYS went bust, cause we may have had ourselves a toy franchise like those STAR WARS geeks...

Pete, I may have the $25,000 beat by the time I'm finished! Nah, seriously, I can't wait for warmer weather so I can work on the ol' Gossie. I'd appreciate the scans, as I am assembling a reference file of Gosses to use when restoring. And to show people what mine 'should' look like. I'll keep you in mind as the merchandise comes out over here. I'll pick up a complete set of everything I find earmarked for you, and you take what you want. We can swap or just reimburse my cost. I still owe ya a favor or two for the Goss magazine article you sent me!
Rockatansky, very cool that you sent the letter. Do you still have a copy of yours? The correspondence itself would be fun to display with the figures. I imagine, barring nuclear holocaust, that the new movie will have some sort of toy line and merchandising attached to it. I plan on getting everything I can...
Mark, how do you like the RC Interceptor? Did you get the clean or dirty version? Or both, LOL?!!! I gotta go buy me one soon...

I got the clean version. It's alright but where can one get any Interceptor diecasts/models/RC/etc... ? So I had to get it. I left it in the package as you can see it while it's in the box. It comes in a clear plastic display case too.

Mark, bring it to Dearborn and we'll run it 'round the lobby! Chase the maids!
Anyway, found out that N2 toys went belly up, but a new company has been formed from the remnants. No word as yet if they retained the Mad Max license for the first three films, or got the license for the new one. Or if someone else picked it up. Still checking...
The N2 Toys Interceptor wasn't all that anyway. EJ or myself could've done better, probably. The slot car road race (rage?) set was kinda cool, but should have had more terrain instead of just a figure 8 track.

i personally was dying for the SLOT CAR SET, though they only gave the HUMUNGUS MACHINE 4 wheels, not 3.
and the GYRO COPTER and 12 inch figures, but the INTERCEPTOR looked too TONKA TOY.

Greetings. I too just picked up the clean version of the BoB by way of my buddy/co-worker in the Hayase office of Johnson Controlsin Japan. I'll probably get the 1:28(?) scale car about the same time I'll be getting the unmodified 1:1 scale version from Portland. (Big arse smile!)
