Where is Max?

I agree with Nelson, it always looked like the photo was on the Mundi Mundi lookout to me. It would make sense, the corner where the truck rolled is just a few hundred metres down the road.

I really should scan all those publicity pics and put them online, it seems there are quite a few notable "key" photographs that I don't actually have on the site anywhere.

I dont really think Max heads back to meet the group at the end. I say Gyro obviously ends up taking Feral with him to meet up. Feral I think is just looking out back from where they came and where Max was..."in my memories".

Maybe Bruce Spence meant that Jed is the same "type" of character as The Gyro Cpt. And I think Max recognized him 'cause Jed ran his landing gear into his head...

Yes Peter. That shot on the hill is my favourite from the whole movie as it sums up Max's charater perfectly. Staunch, battered but resilient, a loner by choice.

The novel (based on an early script with a different ending) seems to suggest that it is of max at the powder river meeting point "200 miles away" . Watching the rest of them drive off into the distance. The last look the feral kid ever gets of Max. I'd tend to agree with the novel on this one.

In real life, Im guessing assume the shot was taken at the Mundi Mundi lookout?

Scince it has caused such a ruckus I'm sorry but meant "Gyro Captian", not Jebadiah. I also still agree with the novel as well, and that they meet at the bridge.

well thats the question. Do you want to know where the shot was taken in real life or where he was supposed to be in terms of the movie???

My question was about in terms of the movie.

I agree with Dave H, that is was at the meeting point.

Because if Max is left with Papagallo's vehicle, how did Gyro and the Feral Kid get to the bus? 200+ miles on a clapped out gyro that can't fly? Every other vehicle was smashed.

My opinion is they all bundled into Papagallo's vehicle for an uncomfortable ride to the meeting point. The Feral Kid is looking out of the back of the bus at Max as we see him at the end. Just as his voice over says "And the Road Warrior? That was the last we ever saw of him."

And what's Max looking at?
