That's why I don't listen anymore to all those wild theories. Miller said it is a reboot/re imaging and it has nothing to do with the time line of the old movies. I see FR the same way. You can not fit this one in the time line of the old ones. Only if you alter the story of MM1 a bit, it could happen much later than the first movie, without the story of MM2. I am completely satisfied with the explanation of George Miller, and I love FR for what it is.

I don't think Fury Road will slide Mad Max to the left all that much. Uncle Entity has nothing on the dedicated Aliens fanboys. And once you reach the obsessiveness of zombie fans there's no coming back to reality.
LOL zombie fans? :D
I don't remember any work of zombies having continuity. Romero's saga is a huge mess in terms of continuity.

please provide the quote from George Miller, as far as I know both he and Tom Hardy never said it was a reboot, and specifically dodged the question and described it as a reimagining, a revisit, and never offered a specific explanation, which in my mind leaves things open to interpretation. If you need it to be a reboot to make sense for you then that is OK, but if not there is plenty of room to connect them in your own imagination, the info in the comic is connecting tissue for hard core fans, but for new fans they dont need to know the old stuff to enjoy the movie.

Miller said it is a "REIMAGINING".
Tom and Charlize reinforced the concept in their interviews. A "RECREATED" and "REARRANGED" Mad Max world/story/character.

I didn't know the exact words anymore Miller used. So, because Miller explained it is not a sequel, I used multiple words to described it as a reboot/re imaging (Read: reboot or re imaging). I never said it was a reboot (specifically). I already knew Miller never said it was a reboot. But I had to describe it as something. So I was still generally correct with my 're imaging'.

I want to apologize to you if you feel upset by my choice of words. You have to understand, English is not my native language. So, maybe I also make some grammatical and spelling errors. But this is the best I can do.

exactly, "is it a reboot?"..."no it is more of a reimagining" -paraphrased not a quote

If you are a Mad Max Fan then you are probably a cool person ;) , I am not interested in "winning" an argument for the sake of winning, if it comes to be that this is in a fact a reboot we will find out definitively either when the comics are out or when the sequel gets made. It just seems like there is a group of fans who are having great fun trying to connect while others are just adamant that the thing is a reboot. It has a loose continuity for sure, but if you are willing to fill in the gaps and connect the dots, it is not impossible that this story is part of the same story we all know and love, why is that a bad thing for some?

Me either... I guess poor old George Miller isnt worth listening to anymore as it seems all these "fans" just prefer to make stuff up and keep theorizing until the cows come home

To use a familiar term to us all... "Youre living off the corpse of the old world"
I will ask you the same thing, not to be confrontational but because I really want to know what exactly you are talking about, where can we find whatever it is you say GM said that we should listen to, i have searches all over he net and while several people claim he said it is a reboot there is absolutely nothing I have found where he says this.

please provide a link or a magazine i can purchase or wherever this is if it does in fact exist.
