Isn't the war rig roll real? In one off the treads of just a few days ago there are photo's with one of them a fireman is posing for the photo as well. The vehicle in those photos looks like the war rig.

I found the truck roll over one of those scenes that was hard to tell if it was done real or not seeing as it and some of the other footage was a combination of real and CG or real and real put together (which sort of adds up to CG !!)

Did you saw a tamer, PG-13 version?
Yeah, pretty sure we sat through the PG-13 one. Had no teeth at all. As for the movie itself, there wasn't much difference. The finished movie's trimmed down from what we saw but all for the better.

That photo was of the People Eaters fuel refinery truck
The War Rig rollover was real but the background was CGI , someone even posted a video of a stunt rig with big roll bars practicing it in Western Sydney

It might just have been that way for storyboard/animatic purposes but after watching the movie five times now, I'm not 100% convinced it's a real stunt. Something about the way it moves seems a little unnatural. As always, I'm happy to be proven wrong though!
Miller said in an interview that this whole sequence was planned to be CG so maybe that's why. But they eventually found someone brave enough to roll that rig and they did it for real, but let's not mention what happened afterwards with the guitar and all...
yeah i hate that guitar and steering wheel stuff, looks like it was just added for the 3D gimmicks

The War Rig roll was real, with special rigs to flip it over, driven by the War Rig driver named Lee.
They then crashed into that with the doofwagon driven by Guy Norris but he was in a special decelerator cage on the side since the cabin is right at the front and a driver there would get crushed. He got to bookend the crashes, the first interceptor roll then lastly the doofwagon. They had no flames to worry about like the radio controlled mercedes crash which had no-one aboard whilst it was driving.
