The CGI dust and that tornado were the only things that kind of bothered me too. But come to think of it - there is absolutely no other way to do a tornado of this size with practical effects so it's forgiven.
Actually a lot of CGI in this trailer looks unfinished. The shot of Max on the pole looks really dodgy, looks like someone just pasted him into the scene without any adjustments. Same goes for a couple of other shots where the lighting is inconsistent and compositing is a bit off. But I'm sure all that will be fixed in the final cut.
Speaking of action, here's a comment from YT that made me giggle:
This movie's gonna make 'Furious 7' look like go-cart racing.
I seems maybe they've bitten off more than they can chew with the CGI and it's detracting from the action in places. Hopefully they rushed some of these shots out so the trailer went out on time. As we saw on the last one they were improving that after it went live.
The bit with Furiousa screaming on the sand dune is awesome. The music is brilliant.
Much like the bulging eyes and sped up footage in the original movies, I'm going to just pretend the what a lovely day bit and the pole shot never a happened.
This is certainly bringing the Mad Max concept to a modern age of blockbusters, this is something entirely different for a new generation of movie goers.

Totally agreed. That Furiosa's shot was amazing. The movie altogether looks very disconnected from the original franchise, so hopefully that will put an end to any comparisons. I believe the original trilogy had its run and it closed off perfectly. This one looks like completely a different animal.
I don't know why but i might be in the minority (or the only one) that like the first trailer better than the new one. It's notvthat the new one is awesome because it is, we get to see some good action scenes and more dialogue from Max. But the first trailer has that charm that reminded me a bit of the old movies. This new one gave me a completely different feeling. Not saying it's a bad thing though.
