just a huge Mad Max fan, and i've been coming to the main site for a long time to get information on the cars and stuff in the movies, just because they're interesting to me. then when fury road was announced i started reading the forum for details.

I had a Heeler from 2001-2011. I loved her dearly. Smart, tenacious, loyal, brutal, unyielding to anyone but me, she served well. She lived for consistency in action. She would automatically lie down at the same spot in my driveway ( 1/4 mile from the house) due to being "consistently" commanded to do so, for instance.

She lived to ride in my International dump truck. She would curl up in the floor with great peace, just like Dog did for Max.

She was built wide and thick with packed muscle. Double masked and beautiful, she would literally never stop. Incredible power and a strong desire to please drove her. I used to enjoy coming home. She would see the lights of my truck and "yelp" from a distance to inform me that she was on her way to greet me.

Cancer stole her, then consumed her to mere bones. She would still force herself to stand even though she lost so much physical strength. Her spirit would not give in. I had her put to sleep with much sadness and intent of mercy. Buried her at my Dad's where the family land can be traced to the 1850's.

I miss her.

Her name was Abby.

Yup, Hyde is a good lookin' dog, rustycarr. Cattle dogs are probably the smartest canines too, IMO.
Very sorry to hear you lost Abby, Ankle. The big C is a bitch.
I don't have the time or space a dog, especially a heeler, requires....so I have cats. That said, if I ever get a dog it will be one of these. Fantastic creatures.
