It's half-way between Road Warrior and Thunderdome, in terms of the style of the vehicles.

I dunno if there trying to hard i think all the cars serve a purpose somehow case in point you have two wide wheelbase cars there with tall poles, somehow it almost looks like cadipolt equipment on the back of those to cars. That could explane the extra wide wheelbase.

If thats somwhat true then ya it keeps with the cars in the road warrior since every car was setup to acomidate some sort of weapon system. In the wastland universe every car will be a hybrid of survival and battle gear built around whatever vehical a person could get there hands on and up and running.

Correct me if I'm wrong:
Is this a twin engine setup with turbochargers feeding compressed air into superchargers?
If so, is it just for show or DOES IT REALLY WORK?

Well, Dual staging an induction system certainly does work..
Drag racers were experimenting with such systems back in the fifties if not further back..

Multiple engines is certainly doable as well... Have a look at a Tractor Pull sometime.
Problem with those (And this is from a conversation I had with a Tractor builder/competitor at a state fair Tractor Pull event some years ago) is that all of the engines on the vehicle have to be Blueprinted and tuned to EXACTLY the same torque and horsepower curves, otherwise it'll.. how was it he put that? Oh yeah "F*** up the drivetrain and rattle the engines to the S***can before you could get it off the trailer"

This all looks like good stuff to me. Earlier, people were talking about how the MM films will be tame in comparison to the earlier films. That's why I think this looks so "over the top"...but I feel if they really deliver a stunt heavy film that is raw and high-energy, audiences that have only watched CGI action might be amazed. I'm hoping that that is Miller's goal, and his reason for making this.

Also, does anyone remember the Making of Thunderdome ? there was a part where they are all sitting around a table with toy cars talking about possible stunts, and one of the people starts talking about a circus act where a guy has a motorcycle with a ladder on top, and a rider climbs to the top while the bike is driving? Makes me think about these boarding poles.

Oh, the bottom of the poles look like have counter-weights so the guy can climb up, they release the pole, and he will slowly drop down on the other vehicle, when he lets go, the pole will snap back up. Very cool.

The lone wolf car in the Road Warrios is an example of a multiple engine car that wouldn't work. Front twin turbo V8 with a rear blown V8 you couldn't sync the two and one would be working against the other..
