Man, you have done a fabulous job on your costume! This really makes me want to get a more accurate on on the go. I think I'm going to see if I can get the South Beach Leather Jacket for Christmas, if not I'll try and save some money for it. It's hard for me, seeming how I'm also trying to work on my WWII German Waffen SS uniform

I hear ya. Didn't realize how expensive this hobby was when I started. I don't think I'd even attempt a WWII costume, hope yours goes well. Thanks for the comment

Hi, I realized that after giving you some input I never posted to say how great the whole thing finally came out!
Fantastic job. You should be proud of the work you put into that costume.
I see that you got the upgrade bug along the way, replacing things like the shoulder plate, the wrench pouch, etc.. I know how that can be...
As far as modifying the harnesses on your boots, did you add those buckles at the front? (It's hard to tell if they're there on the pics of the originals). And I see you added rivets (or something like that) to the back strap too. Nice job. It's a good middle ground between having inaccurate boots and having more expensive custom harnesses made. I think your method would be a good solution for a lot of people.
If you can post a step-by-step guide to how you modded your boots, that would be great.

Thanks Max Replica! I only took two pics so I really wouldn't be able to make a better tutorial than the one you already have up. I did add the buckles on the front. I kept as much as the original strap and added my own straps on the inside of the boot. I matched them as close as I could to the original strap, since they are behind, the front covers them up pretty good. Only other thing I did was take a rubber mallet to the boots, a bit of sand paper to the soles and the antiquing powders. Felt weird hammering on a brand new pair of Frye boots.
