I just read Interdictor's funny comment about his Subaru!! LOL!! Just like me in my VW Beetle with a strong tail wind and an 18 wheeler in front !!! TOO FUNNY, Interdictor. I needed a laugh.

Impressive for my car, i did 124mph on the M25 (motorway that circles London) in my 1981 black 1800cc Opel Manta GT. It was just about maxed out.

135mph on my old z650 most morning on the way to work,it was bored out to 738 ,flowed head ,hot cams and LOUD exhaust and no steering damper or frame braces .I was well awake by the time I arrived!

Driving Fast is Addictive!

As a motorcyclist; cars normally just don't compare speedwise. That's why Max needed the Interceptor to catch the Toe Cutter's Gang. Heheh! Those A-Holes could easily get over 150 mph. At 165 mph everything is very surreal. You are moving so fast that the world falls away and you can feel your heart beating. I walked away from that run and partied all night.

As a motorist; I buried the needle at 120 mph and held it there for 25 miles. In a VAN! '73 Dodge Sportman, 360 V-8, Rochester Q-Jet with Vacuum Secondaries. What a rush! I was totally pumped and scared. Had both my younger brothers in the back and a girlfriend. (STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!)

Took my usual exit off I-405 near Seattle and waited at the light instead of taking the free right turn to calm my nerves and transition to surface streets. Before the light turned I saw the unmarked car pull up behind me. By the time the last State Trooper and Sheriff's car finished pulling up I counted 14 cars. Boy they were mad.

Long story short - it was 1 week to my 18th birthday! Heheh! I was released on my Father's recognizance so I went home with Dad and we had a long chat about my suspended driving priviliges and whatever possessed me. Turns out the right rear axle toasted it's bearing and had to be replaced before the van could be driven again. Ooops!

BAD! BAD! BAD!

I'd do it again though.

It's amazing how much difference there is in each 10mph increment above 120 or so. 130 feels about 40 mph faster than 120 and 150 feels like mach 2!

Last week at about 3:00am coming home from my brothers place in sticks I had my 83 XE Sedan doing 180km/h, I reckon I could have got to 200 or more but the fog was rolling in and I wasn't sure about wildlife on the road.

170+MPH in a 1972 valiant charger 770 6 cyl with a holley stractors lukey (dead now)and 12 slotters in WA on the kwinana freeway when it first opened up i needed new suspention b4 that happened and it rode sooo rough i felt sik after thought the suspension was phukedthose chargers are very fast cars140+ was because the needle was as far as it could go and nearly snapping in half and also it was bloody loud

I was able to get a '70 British Leyland to 100 mph. It screamed like a bansee. Felt like I was a tomato soup can shot from a cannon.
