The Motor City Comic Con 2010

Post by HUMVEE Driver »

I had heard that Bruce Spence would be attending the Motor City Comic Con this year, but that's not the case. If he was, then they would almost certainly want my Humungus Machine and a certain other builder's Interceptor there. But they suck and they don't. I finally got ahold of someone and I was told that if there are no people/actors that tie a vehicle in to a movie/TV show, then they aren't interested. I think it's a shame; those two vehicles would still draw a crowd. And of course I would love another opportunity to get my Machine out again. Oh well, maybe next year. :(

They're idiots and don't know what they're missing.

Watch, when Fury Road is on the radar in a year or two they'll be begging you to come out. And you'll tell them you need to think about it.

If any fan wants to bring something cool to a Con and there is room for it, and they say no, they are stupid.

Hummer: I think you should email the organization with a good photo of the Machine(s). They probably get a lot of submissions with "junk". The quality of yours and the BoB replica are such that they could stand-alone, w/o 'stars'.

I did send them pics of my Machine and the Interceptor, both parked together and driving along. No dice.

So guess who is now attending the Motor City Comic Con? Vernon Wells and Viginia Hey! This greatly increases the chances of a certain couple of replica vehicles also being there; and I am pumped! Stay tuned for updates!!!

Well my Humungus machine is in! I'm going to try and get Vernon and Virginia to autograph it. I hope to see some of you there!

Make sure he can take one of the exhaust stacks off so he can hurl it at the interceptor.

Well I just got back from the 'Con and it was great! They had me park right in front of Viginia Hey's and Vernon Wells' booths. I got in before it started, and as I was messing around with the Machine, someone behind me yells "Get that heap of junk out of here!" I turn, and it's no one but Vernon Wells! I went and introduced myself, and he's a very cool guy! He loved my vehicle; said that he's seen many Interceptors, but nothing like my Machine. We talked for a bit, then he signed a couple of autographs and we took some pictures (see below). He also told me (ironically) that when he ripped the exhaust stack off he had to go to the hospital... but for frozen skin, not burns! It was so cold that the stack froze to his hand, even with the engine supposedly warming it up. He also talked about the Texas Twelve and how the cops were afraid to arrest him. Later on Virginia Hey arrived for more autographs and pictures. Long story short, both of them signed my Humungus Machine! Awesome! How many more of the cast and crew can I get on there? (Also, how can I keep the autographs from fading or running?) I got many more compliments on the Humungus Machine, and many people wanted pics of it... or of them on it. Some film crew said they wanted to interview me about it tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes. Anyway, I need some rest. Here are some of the pics from the 'Con:
