How fast have you driven and in what?

As for me I reached 155 in a LX Mustang 5.0 V8, 5spd. My knuckles were white.

I drive a 1993's OPEL CORSA - Swing + - 1200 Engine.

Generally, I drive fast, and I usually go at 120 km in the highways or higher and higher.

AS for the city, only 80 km or something.

I got my 1974 Chevrolet Chevelle with a 400 Cubic inch small block Chevy engine up to 140 MPH on bald tires through single exhaust (just a few months after I bought it. New tires and dual exhaust came soon after)

I saw headlights coming up behind me pretty fast. I thought I was going to jail. It was a guy in an early 90's Corvette (new at the time) Apparently he didn't like me passing him like that.

125 mph in a 1980 Chevy citation (Really!) that was scariest. Fastest was 140-150 in a buddies '78 Pontiac T/A 400cid. that felt Great!

Made 220kmh plus in my P76 when the new engine had run in. Scared me sh*tless, especially as it has no wings or spoilers and the front lifted sufficiently for me to have NO FRONT STEERING!!!

I know it was over 220kmh because the speedo maxs out there, and i was still accellerating.

Gotta love the NT.

185 klm/h in a 1.3 litre 1983 corolla down a BIG hill.

At that speed the car was shaking really badly and wandering all over the road. the steering had almost no effect. I put my foot on the brakes and... nothing! The brakes simply didnt work at that speed.

It wasnt until I started going up the other side and slowed down to 120 that the brakes even had any affect.

In 1985,I was driving up I-5 in my 1970 Torino Cobra with a 429,C-6 auto,P265x60x15R tires,2.75:1 rear gear ratio,and a 140 MPH speedo.Broad daylight,travelling with a friend that was following in a truck.A 1971 Boss 351 Mustang comes along side while we are doing 70,time to play.We take off,leaving my friend in the truck.The boss is in the far left lane (of three lanes),I am in the far right lane.We come upon traffic in the center lane and then a lone car in the far left lane,blocking the Boss.The Boss is boxed in,so he dropps way back,dives over behind me and we keep going.At 100 MPH,his front bumper is in my trunk.At 120,he is slipping back fast.At 130 his is becoming a speck in the mirror.At 140 on the speedo,he is GONE and the tach says 4,800 RPMs.Since speedos are usually wrong,I took the tach up to 5,300 RPMs just to make sure that I was going at least 140.I pulled over and parked on the side of the road and timed my friend.It took him seven minutes,going 70 MPHs just to get to where I stopped.I never did see the Boss again,he must have turned around to go look for his doors.Bill

I was passenger in my mates Charger heading north from Sydney to Newcastle when a bike blew past us. Being a good Charger driver the guy couldn't resist chasing him... we caught him (he was doing about 200km) and of course my mate had to show him what his Charger could do so he kept accelerating to I don't know what. He then backed off and started to slow down. This was a good thing because up the road a bit there was a cop with a radar. BUSTED! Official 237km/h (that converts to 147.2964574mp/h). The cop just took his details and said "You will be hearing from us very soon" (this was before the days of on-the-spot loss of license).

Anyway he gets a notice to come and talk to a judge and he turns up in court with his lawyer and the lawyer tries the "But your Honor, this is over 20 years old, how could it do such a speed?". The Judge wasn't buying that one. They got an adjournment and on the next court date the cop doesn't show so the case is thrown out of court!

So i guess that is the 'official' fastest I have been.

Senior year in High School. Out for a night of pillage with three friends. I drive my Firebird and second guy has his Firebird.

Second guy is a wacko scootjockey and adrenaline junky. Having consumed much-o-malt beverages I drive like an egg delivery service. Second guy drives like a monkey on crack. Second guy and friends leave our group by high acceleration. Second guy gets his Firebird above 100MPH, just for kicks.

Two headlights come from behind. He thinks its me. Second guy winds up the small block like a tornado inspired windmill and hits 130MPH. Thats when the two lights are accompanied by two blue lights and the chase starts. Behind Second guy is a Dodge 440CID. Second guy laughs and doesn't care. He is fueled by grain, malt, and hops.

Second guy can drive. Drive he did. For two hours the flatfeet brigade gives chase. Second guy runs through two organized road blocks. Next he goes airborne across railroad tracks. The Dodge440 jumps the tracks too and doesn't make the curve, ends up in the ditch. Second guy is still on the run. Dodge driver gets out of ditch and continues. Second guy finally runs OUT OF FUEL!.

Second guy goes before the judge. Judge says "Two years in lockup or four years in the Marines."

Second guy became a private. He gave is car the the lawyer to pay the bill.

150 mph in a Opel Omega 3.0 (germany engine), the car is very fast, but a little hard to control sometimes, really scare !!!
