I'd like to have the C-96 Bubba had in the film. It's an earlier model, pre-1905. The Large Ring hammer is a dead giveaway. 8-)

Thats a great site that - i've had it booked marked for quite a while now, first found it when i wanted to know what the hell ICE-T was using at the end of 3000 MILES FROM GRACELAND as it didn't look like the pieces he was using even had grips, they were just strapped to his arms - this site answered it and more.

Yeah, good info. But nothing other than a pic of the C02 Nordenfelt gun mounted on the red F-150, or the wrist-crossbows. A web-search showed little, as well...

Read an Archery mag like 20 years ago that had a tiny article on those Gauntlett crossbows, they were just converted mini crossbows like the one Aunty entity holds on Max during his audition in THUNDERDOME and apparently they had absolutely no power at all and trying to aim them was fucked cause notice all the pics of Wez aiming his wrist is kinda turned away from what he wants to hit. They were fired by the actors thumb by a lever poking out and bent round the side.
BEARCLAW MOHAWKER's wasn't really usable due to the metal claw getting in the way.

I made a load of wrist mounted Crossbows for our Mad to the Max thingy we did earlier this year. These all shot low powered plastic darts, enough to make you winch when hit, but not break the skin. I found, mounted on the Left arm (I am right handed) after a while was not too bad. Even when riding my Motorcycle with a passenger (The Golden youth) I was able to shoot people with the darts, left handed, at a moving target and driving! The look of astonishment by the drivers twat-ed by the darts from these arm/wrist mounted Xcross bows was great. Picture of a mate playing with the arm mounted Xbow.

It does take some doing, but it is not impossible. Range of the hand held models is limited, and they are not accurate but you can shoot a man sized target at 10 meters without much trouble, unless you go for just a head shot.

On weapons, I had never thrown a boomer-rang before. Bought one, painted it silver and played with that a lot as well at the show. After three days of practice, second throw I buried it into the forehead of a man sized dummy with a polystyrene head from 10 meters!

I like the IMFD page, but like wikipedia and many other sites there is a lot of incorrect info next to the good stuff.

Hey folks,
Sorry to hijack your thread here PursuitSpecial, but I wanted Armourer to see this. I received it in my inbox a few days ago.

Here's the text that came with the email:

WONDER WHAT THAT LOAD WAS!
A guy came into our department the other day to ask a favor. He had a S&W 629 that he wanted to dispose of after a mishap at the range. He said there was a loud bang when he tested his new load and the gun smacked him in the forehead, leaving a nice gash. When the tweety birds cleared, this is what he saw.....

THAT JUST HAD TO HURT!!!

Looks like someone blew up a really nice revolver. The barrel doesn't look like it shows any evidence of being obstructed, so the first question is was he using factory-loaded rounds or reloaded rounds? I'll bet they were reloads. Many times the rounds will be reloaded by some inexperienced hand loader who either 'A'-Likes to load-em hot. Or 'B'- Is trying to be economical and save on powder and chooses a load that uses a super-fast powder and accidentally double-charges the case. Or 'C'- All of the above. Basically, it comes down to ignorance. There have been incidents like this with big-bore black powder cartridges being improperly reloaded, but that clearly isn't the case here. S&W builds a good gun and they aren't in the habit of ka-booming. I believe if they dig deep enough, it will come out as ammunition-related. Improperly reloaded rounds. This is the very reason I won't buy hand-loads from anything less then a reliable and experienced re-manufacturer. I know everyone is trying to save a buck nowadays, but the few pennies saved with the what I'm sure were cheaper-priced reloads cost him a $500 weapon, probably more so in Europe.

Oops, I just went back and re-read the intro. It was clearly stated that the shooter was trying out his "new load". I'm sure the fellow was a novice re-loader. Maybe he didn't have a loading-tables book or he can't read a scale, but he clearly was messing around where he had no business being. He's lucky to still have his eyes and all of his fingers. Instead of disposing of the destroyed piece, he should hang it in a conspicuous spot as a constant reminder of his stupidity.

Hey FERRET, ya shoulda found a way to hook that up so it could be fired with the same hand, i made a nerf one once years ago and sawed off the handle leaving the trigger gaurd flush with my wrist and attached a bit of twine from the trigger to my thumb so i could fire it with a movement of my thumb without anything to do with my right hand at all, was badass 8-)
