Anyone purchased from Southbeach Leather on eBay?

Post by Rook3 »

I see their MM1 jackets are pretty cheap, and they have the leather "jeans" and they claim they can do "custom" (perhaps the leather jeans with NO rear pockets?).

Just curious if anyone has bitten the bullet and ordered from them.

Thanks,

I don't think it's actually $50, I think that's just the starting bid. There's one up now fir $40 but the reserve hasn't been met yet.

Their web site lists the price as appx. $250 plus shipping which is still about half that of Abbyshot.

I emailed them asking what the shoulder armor was made from (I'm guessing it's leather) and
if they have smaller rivits. The ones on it are too large.

Now to wait and see.

Hi All,

Just sent my order off to Southbeach Leather for the MM1 Jacket.... I'll let everyone know how it looks when it gets here. It should be here by the middle of next week. It looks like good stuff in the pix and they even offer a sort of custom tailoring, if you need a custom fit.. apparently, for free too! I went with XL, but I may have to send it back because I'm in between sizes XL and XXL.... We'll see... I hope it's heavier thickness leather and a good reproduction. I seen the comments on the shoulder caps and side adjusters being a bit off. It is an excellent price though... I'll keep yous posted! Cheers!

I forgot to repost what they said in the e-mail I received, but yes, the shoulder caps are
leather. The person also said it's... (I'm paraphrasing) not protective gear. Meaning it's
probably not something you want to be wearing if you get knocked off your bike.

But that doesn't stop me from wanting one. :)

Please share a review (and pictures) when you receive it!

Update... Still waiting. I checked out Southbeach Leather feedback on EBay... It seems they are operating out of Pakistan. I read the negative feedbacks and hope I'm not going to be one of them. Most people are happy with the products, but apparently shipping must be mighty slow. I thought since it went to a NY address, I'd get it here in PA in a couple of days... guess again. I'll post pix as soon as I get it. Cheers, Mike
