Mad Max Remake...

Post by JtB »

A bunch of the other cool car chase movies got remakes, like Vanishing Point, and Death Race 2000 is, I guess getting one.

They should really do a Mad Max remake. No mel gibson, or any of the same actors (not that remakes ever do) just the same cars, and the same plot, but not all the same exact scenes. Just some of the big ones, also more chase scenes, and the ones that were left out due to lack of $$moulah$$.

I'd pay $10 or more (U.S.) to see it on the big screen, but a matinee would work too.

Yes, I thought a remake would be cool as well, although I'd like to see it

with modern cars. It wouldn't make sense to have a pursuit car in the year 2000

(or a few years from now, as the original movie described the timeline) to be

those very heavy 70s cars. The new interceptot should have a similar appearence, in honor

of the original, but it needn't be the same. With a big budget, they could make a

car from scratch, as was the batmobile, so the car would be truly unique.

You know, I was just thinking the same thing yesterday. But I was trying to imagine who would play what parts. I could easily imagine Mel Gibson doing a cameo, maybe as one of the doctors, or even as Ziggy. Other than that, here's my picks (subject to howls of laughter and abuse from my fellow Maxites):

Max - Charlie Sheen (if he ever gets out of rehab or jail). Or Michael Beihn.

Goose - Bill Paxton

Toecutter - Michael Wincott (very GOOD bad guy!!)

Jesse - Jennifer Connelly

Lounge singer - Kate Moss (LOL)

Bubba Zannetti - Tim Roth or Matt Damon

Johnny the Boy - Leo DeCaprio (C'mon guys! Can you imagine him being told he can hack through his ankle in five minutes - if he's lucky!!)

Nightrider - I figure we should get that idiot who played Darth Maul in SW Episode 1. His claim to fame will forever be playing bad guys with less than ten minutes of screen time!!

Roop - Vincent D'Onofrio

I'd have to think about the rest of them. What are your thoughts?

I agree with you on that. I think it would be kick ass if a remake was done with the exact same cars but also go in depth more on the possible cut scenes we've heard about. Also, I think they would have to show what happened to the rest of the MFP guys.

Michael Beihn is the only one who could cut it as Max.

I think Whoever plays the lounge singer should be even skankier ( more unattractive) than Flockhart.

Courtney Love would be a good choice. Just for the heck of it, she should wear that same stupid looking dress with the big hand prints on it.

If Charlie Sheen would starr in it, I'd kill myself. Make Rippin Rob happy, eh?

Still I'd like to see Gary Oldman as Toecutter and Goose could be the station master. And Eddie Izzard as Fifi.

Yeah, and we could have Paulie Shore play Max, Ricky Martin play Johnny, and Jimmy Walker from Good times could play Bubba, and throw in the Olson twins and Hanson as gang members.
