Did anyone go to BACK TO THE MAX or visit Silverton the silverton wrecks with a camera? I just got a 1968 F100 that is a perfect donor for a replica (once I swap the grille), but I need some detail pix of various specific parts of the original if anyone has any. I already have the eaisly available ones, but few are much closer than DVD stills.

G,day doug , yer the guy talked to the council about a grant or some thing from the tourism mob about a museum on the theme of mad max and they were;nt even interested ! The whole place leans toward's the theme of mining for tourism dollars even though there's heaps of people askin about the movie . Every year we are out there and people ask the questions about the movie to the point that there's money to be made drivin a bus to the sites . Because I drive trucks in the mining industrie I find a hole in the ground full of dirt BORIN ,LOL . But they rather make the money out of mining , so thats why they sit out in the open rottin away because noone but the mad max people care . Cheers .

If that's the case why don't they sell it off. It would seem better to make a few bucks off it and let some collector preserve it, for whatever that's worth. I can't imagine it value ever being anything more than what it is right now.

G,day chase, yer i know where your comin from, i've said the same to my wife who replyed " don't even think of it !" And to be totally truthfull in all the discussions with him i've never really thought of it . It also seem's that NOONE really care's that the movie was made there , you look high and low and there's buga all reference to the fact it WAS made there ????? Maybe it's the ozzie way that , yer it was made here but that was then this is now ???? Cheer's .

I can wait till christmass! I wil keep building but any details would be great. I really want to see how the windshield is put together, particularly the side windows (& how they are connected). Also close ups of the tow rig, sissy bars/rollcage, and just how the bed has been finished where they cut it to resemble a tow bed (ie diamond plat on the rear, how the tail lights are, how the enclosed the open areas into a "New" bedrail, interior shots etc. You can email me at shockrock4ever(at)comcast(dot)net................ I have often thought it would be the best idea to create a museum there (or near to the MM 1 locations) in trubute to the trilogy, and gather up as much of the remaining vehicles from all 3 films, copies of the photos from the places in silverton etc etc, and display them. Along with a "Living History" of intervies with actors & stuntmen etc. Looks like the roof supports from one of the compound buildings there leaning against the cobra Truck. If nobody wants to preserve them then ball all means sell them to collectors who will preserve or restore them, screen used vehicles earn big bucks (fully restored anyway).

I'm only 17 so I wouldn't be able to take part but what it everyone coughed up some money and bought the Red F-100 and perhaps the the dune buggie and save them. If some of you can aford to buy and build Interceptor repilcas by the truck and save it!
