Morton & May in Warwick Farm, NSW make some pretty good Mad Max wheels. Last time I spoke to them they said they had both the Sunraysia centres and the Apache centres.

I don't have their details, but you could probably find them in the online Yellow Pages.

For several years now I've been running the vintage BFG radial T/As and have based my size dicision on what I could see from the DVD. After 3 1/2 hours of talking with Murray Smith I can assure you that one of the questions was indeed tyre/wheel size....so check out my site for the sizes as i got the thumbs up from the MAN himself.

Yes Douggie.... 3 and half hours .... that was just on tyres alone.... took another 3 hrs on the pinstriping ..... 4 on the blower......

Hey Dougie,

I couldn't find it on your site, so you might have to tell me, hehe. I'm curious what the front wheel/tyre size should be. I'll (eventually) be getting new front wheels made up. I was thinking about going back to 14x8 with 245/50/14 tyres.

What size tyres / tires did the BOB (Black On Black) interceptor have in Mad Max 1?

The original car in the English “Cars of the Stars”, then American “Dezer Collection” has :

265/50/15 rears (pictured 1)
245/50/14 fronts (pictured 2)

Most seem to fit BF Goodrich Radial T/A 295/50/15 on the rears and 245/60/14 or 15 on the front.

The rear rims obviously were changed between Mad Max 1 and 2 however the fronts were changed too.

Notice the front rim offset (pictured 2 already posted) also (pictured 3) from Mad Max2.

Compare them to (pictured 4) from Mad Max 1 and behind the scenes in MM1 (pictured 5) from the “Original Interceptor in Miami” thread. That offset on the outside of the rim in Mad Max2 appears to be double that of Mad Max1 on the front.
