Clarkson sold his Ford GT and is getting a lambo!

And while Clarkson had it it kept having problems. And he kept complaining about it on Top Gear.

Another reason I like electrics. They don't require constant engine maintenance. No tune ups, oil changes, engine rebuilds. No pistons, belts, pulleys, or gaskets. Many designs don't even need a transmission, just a single gear ratio. An electric motor can last over 500,000 miles without ever having had a single repair or any sort of maintenance.

If they really wanted to go balls out on the Veyron, why didn't they develop something like a W24, that is two V12s mated end to end? That would have been very interesting.

Ah but you need somewhere to sit all that size engine would have left no room for the pilot. Please note I used the word pilot and not Driver, cos at those kind of speeds it ain't driving so much as aiming.

Not so clever now eh Toecutter Image

Seriously though once they can get a better range out of those electric cars I think people would be more interested in owning one. I would if I knew I could go for 500 miles better yet 1,000 miles on one full charge. It's the limited distance it seems to have that would worry me. Ok if you live in a city then you're laughing, as you'd be hard pushed to cover 200 miles in a week but if you commute then it's a whole different ballgame. it's the nagging worry or running out of electricity that would concern me.

Hey you could alway carry a little supercharged V8 genetrator in the boot for a recharge if you run out.
