Justice thanks for the review 'twas a good read. It's given me a few pointers where not to go in my own Mad Max writing, not that I needed too many warnings about directly copying certain stock phrases or moments from the films.


I totally agree with your judgement about sequels to popular films Justice. There seems to be a formula the movie industry follows nowadays. "Appeal to the maximum amount of people as possible" So, it seems, they dilute the moderately violent stuff down, have light comedy moments, have the token black man, or gay, or non American, or some kids sprinkled into the mix and throw in a tree hugger etc etc etc. Then make some deals for plastic lunch boxes just to be sure the film is plugged on the supermarket shelves.


Maximum profits for everyone involved in the production... and who give a fiddler's fart if the real fan gets pissed off. They're laughing all the way to the bank.

As far as Writing goes.. No bias that I can detect. You were given some of the most constructive Critiques I've ever read on the internet regarding any Fanfic material.





As far as your insistence that we're all in the wrong for the opinions in the Critiques, and in your subsequent Trolling (includign but not limited to Repeated reposting of "Arena", Repeated Postings of pictures of that "Sprint" person, especially after you were requested not to by the Board moderators.. Yeah.. Biased a bit, and you deserve it.





All of us here, except You and Chewbacca enjoy the Mad max movies, and are quite familliar with it's characters & situations.


The general consensus is that your version is drastically out of character for Max.





The writing itself.. On the Curve of internet writers.. Not all that Bad, if a trifle unoriginal and repetitive in places. (I do a bit of that myself in my writing. The difference is.. I don't have a fit if someone offers a bit of constructive Criticism)

From what I observed, all Gibson did was whimper and whine about "this" and about "that" and about "everything". If I had a star cop that kind of attitude with me, I would say "piss on you" and would find another likely candidate- I would find a way. I think Gibson knows that people think that only he can play Max. What's he doing about it? Nothing. It's in style when old kodgers kick the tar out of "know it all" young punks. Clint Eastwood did it multiple times just use one example. Gibson, if he was concerned about his weight for the mad max film, could have gone to the gym and developed some muscle. Did he do that? If he didn't, then obviously he wasn't interested enough in reprising his role as Max Rockatansky.





I agree that he, "for now", is the only Max. Peter Sellers was the only actor who could play Inspector Clouseau- Steve Martin was beyond aweful inhis attempt to play the role in the 2006 movie "The Pink Panther" and Alan Arkin wasn't that much better when he played the role in 1966 (which isn't included in the Pink Panther DVD box set). But, there are other actors out there (not 'no names') that can play the role. Russel Crowe is my first choice to play the most violent Mad Max ever known to man. Eric Bana is my second choice. Christian Bale would be my third choice and the new Bond of "Casino Royale" would be my fourth.

The sad thing is this... There are is a whole "new generation" that most likely didn't see Mad Max. If someone says mad max, I see Gibson. That is the face we all attached to Max.


He could have done it, and even 5 years down the line, when Mel is 55, he can still do it. But chances are slim if I look at all the talk about "No Mel". I fear Mad Max 4 is going to be another Beyond Thunderdome. Fun to watch, but the character battered and smashed to appeal to the masses. Who wants to see the mysterious silent type anyway?

I'd like to see a MM movie so violent that it can obtain a coveted X rating before even adding any sex scenes.





If I had my way, Fury Road would either be a remake of MM1, a film that has entirely different chatracters but shares the same world, or a film that takes place between MM1 and MM2 with a new actor that resembles Mel back in the day.

Controversy is key. The robust and extreme violence in Road Warrior made it key and noticeable ontop of the good writing, acting, directing, stunts etc. Road Warrior was ahead of its time in 1981. Fury Road would also have to be ahead of its time. Lets hope that Miller doesn't loose his luster with "Fury Road" as John Carpenter did with "Escape From LA". Miller should remember the extreme violence as each generation of gangs get all the more violent. Of course he must remember the awe inspiring stunt work. Third, he should avoid the "computer graphic stuff" unless it's absolutely applicable. And of course have originality and dam good writing.
