did Sarse & Scuttle die

they are not seen or metioned after the accident.so does any one know what happened to them?

I'd say no. The car rolled over but it never crashed into anything. Roop must have known they were OK or he would have called for a second ambulance before verifying their condition. Maybe they were in other scenes but were deleted from the final cut.

I think if it had been scripted that they died or even sustained serious injury, reference would have been made to it. Sarse & Scuttle, I feel were from a different unit or jurisdiction to Roop, Charlie, Max, & the Goose, which is why they were chasing the Nightrider all the way from Sun City, judging by the state of the two cars, quite some distance away. I'd say they'd just gone back to Sun City.

When Max visits the Goose in hospital dont we see one of them there?

Roop, Charlie and Fifi are there...... but in the opening scene we see a 4th person standing there....... and when Max walks out there is only 3.

Time for that video reply again i think......

MFP559, I posted something similar, but deleted it. The only thing supporting that is that the March Hare car looks different from Big Bopper. I would think if they were from somewhere else, they would have kind of introduced each other over the radio. Also, refering to the car as March Hare makes it sound like they know each other.

When the tow truck arrives at the wrecked caravan, you can see someone (Scuttle I think) staggering away from the up-turned car...

...Sarse & Scuttle belonged to a different precinct ( Sun City )... that's why they were never seen again..

I mentioned S&S being from Sun City in my deleted post. Having not seen the movie recently, I can't recall dialogue between BB and MH.

I agree with mad max 2050,i have the MGM special dition of MM and noticed the same thing(someone staggering away from the car) so im sure they surived and went back to sun city.i just wanted to see what outher MM fans thought and all of you seem to think the same as me.i feel better now because i thought Sarse&Scuttle were perrty cool and alawys woundered what happened to them since the flim does not make it clear.I hope MM4 gets made sometime this century!

In the dialogue on the two-way, the radio operator tells Sarse to talk directly with "Big Bopper",although Roop seems to know Sarse already. Cops from different precincts quie often know one another, whether they knew each other before joining up, or if they met at the academy, or on the job somewhere, it's quite common so I still say Sarse & Scuttle are from Sun City because:

Sarse- "March Hare to Big Bopper, March Hare to Big Bopper"

Charlie-"Gotcha Hare, what's going down?"

Sarse- "We got a cop killer"

Charlie- "You're kidding?"

Sarse (I'm not sure of the exact lines, but it's words to the effect of:)- "He's a terminal crazy, breaks custody down in Sun City, wastes a proby, we've been on him ever since"

(Judging by the state of the cars, I'd say it's been a lengthy chase.)

Roop- "What's he driving?"

Sarse- "This one hurts... a pursuit special, on metho, very toey" (I just love that line- had to throw it in!)

That's why I reckon they're from Sun City, they've been involved in the chase from the get-go.
