Just do it !!!! this is the coolest thing since sliced bread!! I know it's been around for a while but never really looked into it. You can see my XB parked in the drive way!!.....not really but you can clearly find your own house as long as it's not completely surrounded by trees.

I couldn't agree more.

This thing is half search engine, half video game.

I'll be curious to see how often the sat data is updated.

The only drawback is that you have to have a fast(ish) machine.

Cool.. Looks interesting. Unfortunately, My home computer is on a Dial-up conection and is busted anyway and my Work computer.. Well, Let's just say that the day that I get a machine back here that's capable of running that.. Satan will be Ice skating to work.

(And even then, we're not allowed to Download any programs)

This machine runs 64 Mb RAM and a 400 Mhz processor.

Minimum requirements for the simplest programs I run for work.. 128Mb & 700 Mhz.

Machine can't handle two windows open at a time, and yet they still refuse to upgrade.

As a side note....the images are at least 2 1/2 years old as i looked up my old address and i can see some vehicles in the driveway, one of which was scrapped in October of 2003.

Its good but, why does it only show major cities in detail? you can't see where i live its just a green blob and Amsterdam is just the centre, doesn't even show the Amsterdam arena where AJAX play! Image

I've wondered that as well - the city of Melbourne is only half in detail, and the other half of the city centre is all low resolution. Yet the Mad Max locations, which are primarily in Little River (the middle of nowhere) are all in the hi-res maps. Then again, there are a few military outposts down there and other items of interest, so maybe that helps define what gets photographed in detail.

As Doug said as well, some of the photos are a bit old - it would be good if the software actually identified the age of the data you're looking at. For the most part it doesn't matter, but I've found a few things where I'd like to know the date the photo was taken.

Still love it, a really cool toy to play with, I just wish you could get more maps in higher resolution. Hopefully they keep developing it further.
