Poors mans means of making an car sound tough

Post by Jason »

I drive a humble V-4 Toyota Tercel which is having trouble with its front end exhaust pipe. Let me tell you, its been pure driving fun since. Think of how the Interceptor sounds as Max leaves the compound gate, right before Lord H. calls Max a puppy under his breath. It's an exact sound alike.

It makes me think, if the Interceptor only had a standard engine during filming, how'd it sound so cool? Besides modification, could the mechanics just have openned up something in the exaust to bring out the noise? In high school I had a 78 Monte Carlo, and I would flip the lid on top of the air filter upside down, screwing the butterfly nut back on loose. This too helped make a so-so engine sound badder than it was. Silly, but fun...

Jason--------it is a Straight-4 , not a v4. Rather you hear that from a friend.

Anyway-I posted previously on this, the majority of movie sounds are added later.

I'm too young to drive, but I know that if I put a playing card in the spokes of my bike, it sounds like a motorcycle. I'm the envy of 4th grade.

Don't forget the bell, so I can warn pedestrians when I race by at 15 miles per hour.

I ride a even more humble Honda CG-125 learner bike ( Dont blame me, I'm a Scot with a learner licence) and it's zorst is simply a tube of rust.

Guess what, unsilenced. People look round to work out if it's a truck or a amplified lawnmower, and see a very scruffy L-plate motorbike....

A bike is a bike. Enjoy, don't apologize.Being american, I'd like to understand the lingo:

"zorst"=exhaust?

"L-plate"= ?? I guess the type of registration/number plate on your bike??
