Gyro Captain's real name

I have been a staunch defender of the two characters being one....up until this point. Read up until this point. Save your conversion speeches ..I'm converted. Can I get an Amen?


The reason is that most opinions have been based in conjecture and not grounded in time-dated material such as this article. I chose to see simliarities while others focused on differences in the two characters.


Gyro Capatin and Jedediah both ambush Max to take his goods at the beggining of each movie, both take advantage of Max when given the opportunity, both try to side with Max if it seems in their best interest, both were airborne, both were wiley, sneaky, manipulative and eager to pit others against themselves for personal gain, neither were trustworthy, both were accomplished scavengers ( I would have expected Gyro to be have a cave full of looted stuff during the time of MM3) and both seemed cultured to a degree ( Gyro, a worldly gentlman, gently pats his mouth clean after eating dogfood out of habit, while Jed drinks wine in a climate controlled cave and reads a novel).


Oh and there were differences, the teeth, the general clothes, the hair, the lack of a name in MM2 and others. But my bottom line has always been ...why use an easily recogniseable actor with recogniseable similarities in a direct sequel and cast him as a different character? It doesnt make sense..to me. I saw his clean teeth and different look as a character progression, much like we accepted Max's long flowing hair.


However I stand corrected. I accept that Gyro and Jedediah are two different characters.


I hear the arguements about Max Fairchild's two characters , Benno and Broken victim. Anyone can recognise them as two different characters because they bore no resemblance in look nor action. Neither were particularly remarkable in one way or another. Bruce Spence is immeditately recognisable.


Think of it like this, if Steve Millichamp is in MM4 in full black leather uniform driving a yellow Falcon with MFP markings would a reasonable person think it was Roop?

Ok your sentence is pretty good the only thing is I'd say that instead of saying "guess what somebody else's one" I'd type "guess what somebody else is one" the 's doesn't work in this one. But as for his hair. My goodness, I could namve off a few Anime characters who his hair reminds me of LOL. But in Dragon Ball Z I'd say it has a slight Goku look to it LOL.
