The Phil Collins song was "Billy Don't Lose My Number". I didn't mention it in my post because they were doing a blatant ripoff.
I also thought of the Petty video too. I recall that they are wearing dusty leather outfits. But, Petty is driving some futuristic car at the end. The motorcyclye with the sidecar looks futuristic too, but I think it's just some European racing bike.
XAman, what videos did you work on?

The car in the Tom Petty video is the Sandman car from the Logans Run tv series. It was driven in that show by the 'bad' Sandman sent to hunt down Logan. I think it was inspired by the Ferrari Modulo show car of the late 60's early 70s. The sidecar in the video was a racing sidehack. You might see alot of similarities between it and the sidehack Robert Redford was riding in "Big Hoss, Little Falsy".

Well there's a Tupac/Dr. Dre video that's a direct ripoff of Thunderdome. But please don't make me watch it.

I know of another MM-influenced video clip. I won't make anyone watch it, though

It's from 2000, by Modern Talking. Clip/song is called Don't Take Away My Heart, and it features a desert and two modified cars.
You can see some examples at this web page:

Hell, I'd say almost every single Thrash Metal Band in the early 80's was Mad Max influenced when it came to what they wore on stage and for photo sessions and things like that.
