Motar, do you see the subtle homoeroticsm (gay theme) in Top Gun? Similar thing in Mad Max. Not condoning or condemning it, just an observation.

What is the tolerence level of Australia for homosexuality? Seems like it used to be very homophobic.

Still wondering about that pistol. Is that a Nazi SS skull in the box? Photo looks to be WWI / WWII vintage.

MFP Officers referred to McAfee as "Fifi" for short.

Fifi smack/grabs Max's jaw in the stairwell as a symbol of friendship, concern, and dominion over him. This was very good acting and was probably ab-libbed and not part of the script. Fifi seems to be the glue that holds MFP together. HE is not to be included with the other clearly queer characters from the trilogy.

I've always seem Fifi much like the lead MRP character in humvee Driver's stories. He is tough, arrogant, authoritative, and caring for his crew's well being.

When Max sacrifice himself at the end of MAD MAX 3, I always think to FIFI. He wanted Max to be an hero, while Max wanted to be a guy like everyone else. Fifi knew from the beginning Max was special, that he was the "one". That's the why I love so much the Fifi character. Everytime I see Max doing an heroism in the sequels, where Fifi is supposed to be dead, I think "Okay Fifi... are you watching from heaven? Your pupil is doing the job well..."
