MM2 Have u ever thought about this one than?:Max comes from the wastlands,he has no friends,except his dog and at the end of the film he is the *leader of the fuel depot and he gets to drive the rig,i mean yeah the rig is empty but isn,t he the biggest *bad* guy of them all,he makes the most kills and nobody blaims him for this,the real bad dudes are the ones from the fuek installation because they are to greedy to share there fuel.

MM3:Max is a dying man in the desert,he has long hair and he looks like a raggedy man,he gets saved by children and he destroys bartertown,he kills almost all the *bad* gus and the leader of the bad dudes let,s him live anyway,now he is the the one and only good and bad dude in one.It just depends on what he has to be in a situation,and because of this i say he is the biggest meanest one of them all(if he has to be)

Yeah, how is Fifi gay? The mustache? The ascot? What exactly made him gay?

To be honest, I always thought Bubba had a bit of a queer thing about him. Can't really explain it, just a vibe.

A big bold man called Fiffi ey,and he is not gay?he has got to be bisexual than yeah.But let,s not begin with the gay stuff people,because a lot of the guys in MM look kinda not hetro sexuall,now there aint nothing wrong with that.But before you know this site will be the new gay meeting spot.And there is nothing wrong with that either,but before u know it people will be showing there wez and his blond dead friend sex adventure pix,and i do have a problem with that.(they probably will dress up like wez etc..)

There were plenty of bisexual flags flying in the MM series. Fifi would be last on my list of suspects. All in all, it's not a big deal to me.

Anyway, Motar, reading your views... It's incredible HOW much Max changed inbetween MM2 and MM3 - his attitude, his fighting style, his motivations, his values - he was growing up as human persona and warrior/hero day by day. I think the trauma he lived with his family's killing re-set his mind and spirit. So, at the end of MM1 he was just like an angry and savage child who needed to develop himself as "entity". He would do it in the sequels... fortunately.

Anyway, it's all matter of points of view, speaking about bad guys and good guys... I agree, Max is the meanest one.

On a slightly different topic, what do you make of the Nightrider? There are subtle hints to his personality and motivation (at least to me) in his dialogue and actions. The two most telling lines are "...strike down the unroadworthy!" and "It's all gone. There'll be nothing left..." I see a streak of rebellion against the downfall of society. He's enraged by the way things are coming apart, and taking it out on the rabble he blames for the slide to ruin. His nervous breakdown and lament as to nothing being left, is a prediction of things to come. He sees the wastelands in the future.

NightRider' s reference to "...strike down the unroadworthy!" was meant to infer his perceived superioirity to all others and was to proclaim his invincibility.

"It's all gone. There'll be nothing left..." reference is a clear case of manic-depression. Symptoms of on top of the world one minute, dragging the bottom emotionally the next is a plausible sign of mental unbalance.

Theses lwords defined this character in short order. Miller hired a writer for these lines. They were originally wrtiien in about 1973.

I agree with MITCH - for the first time I watched MAD MAX (already knowing the sequels) I always thought NIGTHRIDER was referring to the imminent downfall of civilization... he was really a prophet, and I always loved his "complain crisis" at the end of the big chase. All in all, he's a sympathetic character. He sew the wastelands of future, I'm pretty sure. Probably, he was the only one to have a clue about WHERE the world was moving on, that's the way he became a Marauder. Sense of disillusionment. In opposition to Toecutter, who was a self-centered criminal.

I love the idea that NightRider was a prophet, but I don't buy it 100%. I think his "unroadworthy" line simply meant those less skilled or brave on the road. "It's all gone" was his feeling after Max humbled him & ended his dream ride. His intention was to ride to his death in glory , with bravery. Max denied him that.
