Where is Max?

Here's a question I think I know the answer to, but I'd like to see what others think first.


At the end of Mad Max 2/Road Warrior, Max is left standing, being watched by the Feral Kid out the back window of the schoolbus as it pulls away with the Gyro Captain at the wheel. Right?


Where is that spot? Is it where the truck tipped over? Or is it somewhere else? How did they get there? Or know where to go?

In the movie just before they leave the compound, they say that they'll meet up at a bridge 200kms North so they can all leave together. So i think max, Jebadiah, and the kid drive the jet motor car to the bridge.

Jedediah IS definitely Gyro Captain. Bruce Spence confirmed it, kind of. Anyway, there are several clues throughout the movie...

George is a dark authour, you can't guess his mind at all. I'm sure Jed is actually Gyro, because Max seems to have acquittance of him when he sees Jed's face for the very first time in the movie - the same thing when Jed sees Max. Plus, it makes much more sense to me to think Gyro/Jed had a son from the Lusty girl (who presumibly died) and escaped from the Coast... in search of something. The plane is the natural evolution of the Gyrocopter.

M: Yeah, you've got a PLANE

J I have?

*Plane engine starts in the background*

M: Uh huh. It might just save your life.

J: It will?



At this point Max seems to recognize Jedidiah, despite the fact that he could not have SEEN his face while being sprawled in the dirt after being knocked off his Caravan by an airplane.

(Again, one could have recognized the other by his clothes, but with the dust? I doubt he could have made out THAT much detail)



In this scene, I believe Max saw his old adversary/ally and made the quick logical assumption that the pilot was still a pilot and was probably the one who got him into this mess in the first place..



If memory serves, the Movie Souvenier Magazine quoted miller as saying Jedidiah MAY be Gyro Captain..

Anyone confirm this?

My copy of the magazine has been unaccounted for since a few months after the movie was released."

Interesting, but I'm not sure ...


Don't forget the teeth! Jedediah has very good teeth and Gyro Captain's teeth are pretty repulsive.

Anyway, like I said before, I think Jebediah is Gyro, because it would be like Danny Glover being in Lethal Weapon 2 as a different cop, not Roger Murtaugh. Too confusing.

I think Max is standing on the same hill that is used on the opening scene where wez pulls the arrow out of his arm at the mundi mundi lookout. Perhaps Peter can sort this out
