Like Lifeforce, Buckaroo Banzai, Big Trouble in Little China? Or are you talking Saturn 3 or Galaxy Of Terror level B movie.Nightwalker wrote: I also like those old horror and sifi B-movies.
Peaked with his very first film.kickherintheguts wrote:I really like Dragonslayer a lot, and I don't even have issues with the score like a lot of people complain about. I think Peter MacNichol's movie career peaked right then and there!
I once paid money to see Gymkata in the theater.MadMatt wrote:Was there any movies in the 80's that just plain sucked

I hate to beat this horse to death but I was bored while visiting my parents with nothing to do during a weekend in late 1988. Two big holiday movies to see were Cocoon: The Return and *Scrooged. I saw them both on back to back nights and there were totally depressing.MadMatt wrote:Was there any movies in the 80's that just plain sucked?
A week later I was in Riyadh for a couple of months and they don't even allow anything X-mas to go on so that whole winter was even more depressing. And to top it off, when I came back from Riyadh I found out my girlfriend was screwing around on me around the same time I was watching those wretched holiday movies. I had that stupid CD by Cinderella aptly titled Long, Cold, Winter and thank god I can listen to it nowadays and laugh about that fucking horrible winter lol!

Honorable mention: Xanadu and Two of a Kind SUCKED

Different grades of B-movies. from ones that have a (or some) A-actor in them till the completely unknown hard-to-find ones.biolumen wrote:Like Lifeforce, Buckaroo Banzai, Big Trouble in Little China? "UNDERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" is how far you take the fence with you.

While I don't think it's better, I do have a soft spot for Maximum Overdrive.

Most of the best has already been mentioned here and it's tough to think of movies better than Mad Max 2 because MM2 is right up there in my top 3, but some other contenders for me:
Akira
Gremlins
Back to the Future
Die hard
Time Bandits
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Ghostbusters
Evil Dead
Poltergeist
Wrath of Khan

Yup. I remember some kind of Mad Max-reminiscent film called Solarbabies from then which... wasn't that great. Nightmare on Elm Street 2. Slipstream. Jaws 3. Howard the Duck. Was there any movies in the 80's that just plain sucked?
