Another theory connecting the trilogy with Fury Road

Post by Uncle Entity »

First of all, read my original trilogy timeline here:

http://madmaxtimeline.blogspot.com

Then:

Let's suppose Tom Hardy's Mad Max is a man who assumed the identity and legacy of the real/original Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson)...

1994- Mad Max
1995- Tommy (Tom Hardy) is born.
1999- Immortan Joe begins collecting people and building his "civilization". 33 years before the events of "Fury Road".
2001- The Road Warrior
2003- "Legacy", the place where Tommy grows, is born. An hidden and secret outpost devoted to "recreate" the old society, including cops and various social roles.
2015- Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
2017- Max discovers Legacy and meets Tommy. Tommy is 22 years old.
2018- Tommy starts becoming a "cop" under the guidance of Max. They also savage together a Pursuit Special and start working on it.
2024- The New Interceptor is finally complete. Max leaves Legacy after blessing Tommy and giving him his modified MFP jacket. Tommy himself assumes the "Mad Max"/Max Rockatansky persona.
2025- Legacy is destroyed by some gang. Max II starts wandering the Wasteland.
2032- Fury Road

What do you think about it? Any suggestions?

I think it's quite a fun idea. Have you ever seen "The Last Train"? It's a post apocalyptic short series set in the UK, one of the places in it is very much along the lines of your Legacy idea :)

It's quite obscure and was made in the '90s, by Channel 4 (who also made quite a few successful movies, too). Had a few good moments, but is very much a budget mini-series of it's time, lol ... there was a DVD release, but copies are rare.

I came up with a similarish idea the other day using the Feral Kid theory and game story. It would explain the new Max and why he's crazy in FR.

The feral kid becomes leader of the Great Northern Tribe and after growing up idolising Max he styles himself in his clothes, calls himself Max and even going so far as building his own interceptor looking car. After the water wars the Tribe is regularly attacked by bandits, his wife and child(Hope & Glory) among others are taken and he sets out to find them with another man. A combination of the events from the comic and the game play out with him as the only survivor, he goes crazy with guilt for all the people who died, blaming himself and heads into the Wasteland. Cue the events of Fury Road. Years later Furiosa finds him and convinces him to come back to the Citadel. When he gets back the lift lowers and he meets old man Max(Mel), cue emotional scene and the two going up into the citadel to "retire", ending the new trilogy of MM films.

So basically the Furiosa Prequel/Sequel would follow Fury Road and then the Wasteland prequel(being told by Max to Furiosa during the drive) and ending with the elevator scene the way Fury Road was going to end with Mel.

The Feral Kid became the Leader of the Great Northern Tribe and spent all his life at "Paradise". He was extremely old when he narrated the events of TRW.

So no, if we follow the "Legacy theory", Max II must be another guy - not the Feral Kid.
