It's scenes from the "lost version" that showed on NBC back in the 80s. Although many of the differences are cutting some shots right out, there are many cases of extra cuts added to scenes to extend them, using footage I had never seen before. Lots more aerial shots.
If Miller was like Lucas and felt the need to go back and tinker with his creation, the material is there somewhere. But I don't think he's like that. He's happy to let his art stay as what it was when he did it. And of course he would be on a no-win anyway.

This was on the tele when i was a kid around 86 or 87.

When I saw the lost version on tv the night scenes were practically pitch black.
