I remember somebody quoting Miller from a circa 2000 interview saying they were scouring the world for Max stuff
To put in a massive box set, obviously to be released alongside the OG Fury Road in 2003. Still no Box Set 13 years later???
WTF?!
What happened to the big box set?

2003??? I would bet that has long been forgotten about.
The MM Anthology slip-box set is very good though and the one I would recommend
as it has the 2.30 hr docco with it.

Re: What happened to the big box set?
Interesting tidbit on this. During the ramp up for Fury Road, just before we started to see advance built photos of the FR cars leaked onto the forum, there was serious activities towards a trilogy box set to be released in conjunction with FR. Having had to commit to secrecy at the time, all evidence points to the project being shelved so I feel comfortable years on with this bit of disclosure.
Madmaxcars.com, and a number of replica owners, did participate in a shoot for one of several DVD extra features related to the original films. Interviews and action sequences shot in Washington and California, by a production company that also did extras for the Supernatural DVD releases.
Needless to say, when no expanded box set appeared in the promotion for FR, there were a number of disappointed folks, not to mention fans in general. If you are a long timer like myself, you might even remember the thread where the production company posted looking for participants. It was greeted skeptically as you might expect, but did actually connect them with the right folks.

Yeah. Mark Sexton said recently thery're putting it together for an imminent release/announcement to be made soon.
Probably explains the B&W set showing up in Germany for preorder. Maybe the B&W one will be separate

Finally! If that German box set is legit then they really took their time announcing it.
