Why does MAX have a Blutooth headset in Fury Road?

I've noticed Max has a blutooth headset in some of the fury road pictures i don't recall it in the film it might have been taken out, but what would he use it for?? considering technology wouldn't even work? (sorry don't know how to post pictures for an example)

Someone said that it was in the first movie drafts as something he used to stop the voices in his head , but was edited out of the final cut , another thought was it was there to receive orders from the director during shooting

oh cool using to get the voices out of his head makes sense, guess that why he had the walkman at the beginning of the film maybe as well??

It would've been cool to see the scene where he finds and puts the ear piece. I'm sure blackmocco remembers the scene, it must've happened between Max abducting The War Rig and hiding in the hole with Splendid and two guns (because that's the earliest confirmed shot they removed the earpiece from).
I wonder if he just found it in the sand, or maybe it was in one the pockets in his jacket?

He also has tubes going into a bottle on his back. Collecting water vapour from his breathe? Maybe thats where Rictus gets his.

yeah i read that somewhere too - or that it was a reminder of the old world and seeing as Max isn't 'all there', chances are it was for the voice thing too.
I also heard it only started appearing after he killed Bulletfarmer - he stole the boots and ammo and saw that and grabbed it too.

It's just a modern/different interpretation of the music box, isn't it? Shows Max does have some hints of humanity left in him.

I think someone identified that backpack thing as some sort of sports water dispenser like bike riders / hikers use

According to George himself at a Q&A in Los Angeles last night, the bluetooth is just something everyone needed to wear to receive instructions because the set was always so loud. Nothing to read into it in regards to the actual movie. There was no scene in the rough cut I saw where Max puts in a bluetooth.
