Charming. So, none of you are interested in the fact that The Force Awakens is raking in lots of additional cash due to repeat viewings by a diverse audience? (Linky link)
Yes yes, of course 51% of the world's population doesn't matter

No, we're not.
You know why? Because it's not a gender issue, it's a marketing issue. Disney knows their male market is secured with SW so they're branching out to women and families for extra profit. Disney will sell you a bag of oranges with SW logo on it ffs. They would cater to hamster owners if they saw a potential market in that. They don't care. There is no feminist agenda here and there was no feminist agenda in FR either.
And stop it with this '51% of the world's population doesn't matter' attitude. Nobody says that except for a tiny group of delusional SJWs that victimize women.

Pisses me off when people use the 'Grosses' as a bases for how GOOD a movie is.
Grosses mean buggerall.
Grosses just tell you how many arseholes went to see something, not how good the movie is.
Otherwise that would mean Forrest gump and Titanic are better movies than Fury Road, just simply because more people went to see them.

Re: News on the Fury Road sequel: "The Wasteland" !!!
Ok, so The Wasteland goes back to the same level of representation seen in MM2, and is then a financial failure because it looses a large segment of the audience, Fury Road is seen as a fluke, and the whole thing gets buried over time. I'm fine with that, I waited most of my life wanting something like Fury Road, and now I have it I'm happy.
Also, if the writers and director directly say that they specifically wanted to include interesting women (as is the case for The Force Awakens) it's just marketing? You can re-type anything you like in letters as big as you like, it doesn't mean you get to tell women what they're thinking.
I *hope* to see another Max film with interesting women in it, but if it turns out to be a 2 hour sausagefest then the next natural progression is to have at least one gay sex scene ... in fact, thinking about it, Mad Max meets Brokeback Mountain would probably get lots of women to go ... not sure where I was going with this ...

I'm so glad Disney in their infinite wisdom found a way to represent the precious oranges.

Check your privilege, apple eaters. Oh no...

But I can't like apples AND oranges! I must blog about my outrage and spread it far and wide across the interwebs!

Re: News on the Fury Road sequel: "The Wasteland" !!!
You seriously need to take off your feminist glasses, because that whole paragraph about The Wasteland failing because you saw into the future and saw its demise based on going back to the same level of representation seen in MM2... wow. That wasn't grounded in reality whatsoever now was it? Also, can I borrow that magical crystal ball that shows you the future?
How are we supposed to discuss anything with you when you say things like this:

How are we supposed to discuss anything with you when you say things like this:
Then just admit that you're not watching movies because they're good but because there are women in it. How sexist is that? And you claim to represent equality? It's been repeated time and time again over here that neither we, nor the director cares who plays the main roles in Mad Max franchise because we love those movies regardless. That's as close to equal treatment as it gets, yet you claim the higher moral ground while being straight up sexist. While we're at it, where were you when the issue of young men used for war in Fury Road was raised? Or did you let that little fact slip past because equality in movies only means more women on screen? Even Brendan McCarthy said the whole feminist angle was blown out of proportion after the release of Fury Road and other issues such as the religious cult angle or disposability of men were completely ignored.Turbofurball wrote:I *hope* to see another Max film with interesting women in it, but if it turns out to be a 2 hour sausagefest then the next natural progression is to have at least one gay sex scene
This applies to you too.Turbofurball wrote: You can re-type anything you like in letters as big as you like, it doesn't mean you get to tell women what they're thinking.
