Also made rear section of the roof from original panel wagon top. At this point averything is quite crude, I'm trying to get body shape first in order and then it's time for finesse. And that means it's going to crude like real car
Youv'e probably seen The Parts Box site lots of bit n pieces there , I tempted to try my hands at cars but still not happy with my skill level yet , meanwhile I'm building another post apocalyptic beast war rig thing lol from a Karl Morser and lots of other things

Yeah, I checked out their site but no Holden Ute. And even if there had been one, no thanks to resin. I'll say this, making Landau was walk in the park compared to this build but I still have my sanity intact Today I chopped and narrowed roof and glued it back, I also noticed that my fenders are sitting too high so I sliced them off and glued back on lower position. Finally I sliced about 3mm off from rocker panel, now all it needs is that sheet metal sun vizor. Well, obviously it needs loads of work to rear fenders but front is starting to look like it should.
Thanks. In new episode of rough and ugly we bulk up rear fenders, and to do so we use derelict '54 chevy from Revell and cut it's rear fenders off. Slice them into three pieces and glue on top of original fenders, once these have cured I will remove originals with dremel tool. Very effective if not subtle, but very much in the spirit of this vehicle.
i have to hand it to you for giving it a rip-roaring go. it's a lot of work that most would shy away from. There is a resin holden ute, but it's not much fun to cut those up. i got it off ebay
Yeah, that would have been easier route in some ways, and dimensions would probably have been more correct. It took me about week to get basic lines together using Chevy kits, it probably would have taken week to modify resin body also. I would say that it's more fun in a way I'm doing this, also gives me a way to be more creative. It's kind of funny that when I build armor kits, I hardly never do any conversions with them but mostly stock stuff with some aftermarket bits. But with cars it seems that I need to work them a lot to keep it interesting.
