I was in the camp that would've preferred the Australia look with some roads and less desert-like etc. At this point though, wouldn't it totally break from the established world in Fury Road? Like we always talk about, Mad Max movies don't have to follow each other all neat and perfect. I'd be totally OK with it, but how many others (including new fans) would be?

Im the same; Id love to see roads, ruins and ruined cities. Less desert, less sand, a return towards the cities and the crazies living there

I agree, more ruins and ruined roads, but all abandoned. Having people go back to living in ruined cities is sort of against Mad Max logic because that's where they ran away from - from all the violence and vermin wreaking havoc. And in post-apocalypse that'd be the first place marauders would look for some loot. Easy picking. I guess some interesting settlements would be fine, it worked out well for Fury Road, showed people's ingenuity, like Jeddediah's home being a clever hide out. For all intents and purposes I think ruined cities should be left as ruined cities that nobody ever wants to go back to, sort of like the Titanic - done and done, it's only there to look creepy and fall apart if you know what I mean.

Also if it's 45-50 years after the apocalypse then it's unlikely that any cities would have anything left worth looting. I could see a warlord type take control of a ruined city though and have his own Warboy style army there.

Personally I've had my dose of gangs/armies/whatever.

I want to see some remnants of civilisation and the struggle by relatively peaceful people to survive. I want to see nomads and journeymen/women. I want something based in realism that I can connect to emotionally. I want that feeling of near silence and desolation where it seems you can still hear screams in the whistling wind. Give me tragic wrecks and a dead world built on expired souls.

Please please please, don't give me Fast & Furious - Apocalypse Drift.

Yes, definitely smaller scale movie, set somewhere apart from flat piece of sand that is FR.
I'm actually amazed how little of Namibia has been used in FR. They had amazing dry riverbeds there, desert dunes directly running into sea (ok, if the sea exists anymore) - and all we got was some CGI rocks and endless flat desert.
Apart from the Interceptor scene and Rock bikers, is there any on-site footage that's not filmed on a flat plain?

The fact everything is dead doesn't have to mean everything is boring - so more Australian deserts please, and definitely more roads, roadblocks, roadbattles!

No, it's not a contradiction at all. Even the Fury Road Universe is vast enough to "host" other types of regions where the Wasteland is less prominent and there are structural remnants of the former civilization. So I'm fine with this idea.
