The drummers on the Doof Wagon

They looked pretty cool but we never got a real close up good look at them, for example we never see their faces clearly that I can recall. I was wondering were they wearing masks or were they mutated? They were obviously not War Boys as they had the same long flowing white hair that Joe had. Would be great to know more about them. I wonder if there were any behind the scenes pics of them. I hope the Blu Ray has some good footage of them on set at least.

The closest (that I noticed) to seeing their faces, is when Max lands on their vehicle and one of them jumps out of his seat, as if trying to make a grab at Max. So far I've not seen any other shot/still of them from the production photos/footage.

Every single time i see those drummers and their weird headdresses, they remind me of this guy from CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST.
I seriously doubt it's a homage, but fans of Italian horror all tell me the same thing - "hey so how come the guy from Cannibal holocaust is drumming on the doof wagon?"

That second photo is strange. Looks like a reverse image that still has Max landing on the right side of the Doof wagon
