Fully agree.Immortan Joecutter wrote:After reading all of your comments I decided to skip the Max comics.
To be honest, I don't like the whole mashup with the old trilogy and the new movie.
For me FURY ROAD works perfect as a standalone film and I have no desire at all
to discover every single aspect of Max' backstory.

TheGoose and Ol Coyote are absolutely right.
Also, the question isn't whether you like or dislike the canon. We now have the answer : Fury Road isn't, unfortunately, a stand alone. The movie is set after MMBT. Ok, it doesn't make any sense, but it is in Miller's mind. Even if you could find excuses for him he is still responsible for this.

F--k the canon.
In my own 'canon' MMBT doesn't even exist.

On one hand you have the movies and on the other one the comics
(and the comics - most of us will agree - didn't turned out really well)
Both are different art forms and I am able to seperate them.
As a filmmaker George Miller conceived Fury Road as a standalone film and that's absolutely fine.
And in the end you don't have to eat every 'Schlänger' which is put in front of your nose.

The movie is a stand alone film in the respect that it has no links to the originals. Miller has said this time and time again in multiple interviews.Mad Serge wrote:TheGoose and Ol Coyote are absolutely right.

Really, all the movies are standalone. You do not need to see any of the others to 'get' any of them.
